DCS : World

Quote:
Feel the excitement of flying the Su-25T "Frogfoot" attack jet in the free-to-play Digital Combat Simulator World!

DCS World is a vehicle combat simulation game created by an inspired development team. DCS World uses a powerful engine that delivers realistic gameplay. The battlefield includes a spectacular mission area - the location of the Georgian conflict in 2008. Fly the Su-25T in a massive, semi-dynamic campaign to achieve dominance in the skies over Georgia!

The huge variety of aircraft, land units and warships are included from countries such as the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, German Spain and others. Units are controlled by sophisticated Artificial Intelligence (AI) and they have an amazing levels of detail. This all allows for the creation of engaging, real-world combat missions in this flashpoint region. DCS is a true "sandbox" simulation that can and will cover multiple time periods covering many types of combat and civilian units.

Your exhilarating experience will be extended through additional DCS modules available through Steam. Such modules include the A-10C Warthog, Ka-50 Black Shark, the P-51D Mustang, and ground combat control with Combined Arms.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/223750

So with DCS : World you get a free playable "weird" aircraft : the Su-25T "Frogfoot" (Russian A-10 sort of)

There is no reason you don't give this a try. Wink

Keep in mind that flight simulation is an expensive hobby, DLCs are not cheap.
Steam sales might help though.

Also, if like me you already have some (all) DCS modules, Steam keys are coming soon for you, if you want to have all this stuff on Steam.

yeah I have fc2 from before dcs stuff was about etc etc, but Ive required my old pass twice now (pass change) i get the mail but everytime i use the link it says the dword is incorrect that was given but its what they sent me as its part of the return mail to change ur pass Very Happy

I cant find any info either if there is anything we get as original fc2 owners.. I really dont get exactly what the new "dcs" and the other modules u get are.. I mean I see a10 and all that as 14.99 modules but im guessing here that its just ripped right out of fc2 and sold ontop of dcs world?

I wanted to know which modules/products at the flaming cliffs website were full cockpit interaction types..

Unfortunately none of the Flaming Cliffs aircraft have "clickable" cockpit.
(not an issue if you are using an HOTAS)

All DCS : Flaming Cliffs aircraft are standalone ones from Flaming Cliffs 3
If you own FC3 you will get them for free (as well as all future DCS : FC aircrafts to come)
They have done so to be able to bring them on Steam and to allow users to pick the one they want.
The main reason they can't bring the whole FC3 dlc on Steam is because Ubisoft still own some copyrights on "Lockon game" from which "Flaming Cliffs" is a derived official "unofficial" Addon.
So Ubisoft could (and certainly would) pursue them for selling FC3 to users who doesn't own the base Lockon game.

Edit : Forgot to say that standalone DCS : FC aircraft have :

* Detailed and accurate 3D model and animations
* Six Degrees of Freedom (6DOF) capable cockpit
* Advanced Flight Model (AFM)
* Campaign and missions

So they are enhanced version of Flaming Cliffs Addon.

its states as well on the site that to use fc3 you need fc previous lol..

"Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 will require an installation of Lock On: Modern Air Combat or previous version Flaming Cliffs."

odd its not standalone, and still I cant find any info on wether the models in fc3 anyhow are clickable pits. it did mention an upgraded f15 though in reading. Again though no mention about the pit features.

to me its like they are hoping people will buy and go fuck no pit interations with mouse, not that it matters you can use keys but still.. dunno something seems hidden a little Very Happy

for $49.99 one would think it be standalone after this time. :O

Yep.

Clickable cockpit is the most wished feature.
Hopefully they will listen, and do something about it, they really should at the price they are selling these "updated" old aircrafts.

And release that damn FA-18C already !

And that Arizona map while you are at it Twisted Evil

BTW fresh news :

9 August 2013 - DCS News Update

Steam News
This past week was a very significant step for the DCS series by offering DCS World and its modules (also known as DLC) on Steam. This has proved a great success and we see this as a very important outlet and expansion for the series. Other titles coming to DCS on Steam soon include:
A-10A: DCS Flaming Cliffs (16 August 2013)
DCS: UH-1H Huey

We are also working with Steam to improve our presence there by: allowing activation of DCS Steam products from key purchase sources other than Steam; enabling Overlay, play time tracking, and achievements; and we hope to take advantage of Steam Workshop for items such as missions and campaigns.

Great news !

Now I can get rid of the crappy (in terms of update download speeds) of the standalone DCS World and the separate modules stashed on my HDD.

UH-1H modules and the ability to activate these news DCS : Flaming Cliffs (A10A & Su25) modules if you already own FC3 aren't implemented yet.

So keep standalone DCS : World for FC3 & UH-1H, just in case. Wink

I have one. It's extremely hardcore but if you're into DCS it's great!

Keep it mind though that it has no twisting handle for rudder control so it is best combined with rudder pedals.

DCS: FLAMING CLIFFS 3 COMING SOON!

DUXFORD, UK, January 23rd, 2014 – The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics will release DCS: Flaming Cliffs 3 as a digital download for $49.99 in the first quarter of 2014.

DCS: Flaming Cliffs 3 (FC3) is the next evolution of the Flaming Cliffs series that operates as part of DCS World. Feel the exhilaration of flying multiple fighter and attack aircraft from both the United States and Russia in engaging and dangerous combat missions. Jump into the American F-15C air superiority fighter and A-10A close air support attack jet; or the Russian Su-27, Su-33, and MiG-29 fighters and the Su-25 attack jet to test your flying skills.

The FC3 aircraft provide an easy learning curve for new players and focus on a broad range combat missions. FC3 adds many new features and improvements to previous versions of the Flaming Cliffs series. FC3 is a module of DCS World, which makes it compatible with all other DCS World titles like A-10C, Black Shark 2, P-51D, Combined Arms, UH-1H Huey and Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight.

For owners of Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3, this is the same product; the only difference being the product name and no need for an existing Lock On: Modern Air Combat installation. Owners of Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 will also have the Lock On: Modern Air Combat installation requirement removed.

New Key Features for the Flaming Cliffs Series:

No longer is an installation Lock On: Modern Air Combat required!
• A DCS World module that is compatible with all other DCS titles.
• New Advanced Flights Models (AFM) for the A-10A and Su-25. New AFM for the Su-27 and F-15C coming soon!
• New 6 degrees of freedom (6DOF) cockpit and model for the F-15C, A-10A, Su-27, Su-25 and Su-33. New MiG-29 cockpit coming soon!
• New campaigns and single player missions.
• Improved flight dynamics for air-to-air missiles.
• Updated and improved HUDs and other cockpit systems.
• Resource Manager that adds logistics control to missions.
• Expanded theatre of operations map into eastern Georgia.
• Countless other improvements in the areas of the mission editor, special effects, new models, improved terrain detail and AI.

No more old Lockon installation needed, and it will come to Steam as well.
Current FC3 owners will be able to activate their FC3 key on Steam once available.

So finally, the full DCS package will be on Steam, one of my dreams comes true Very Happy
