Overview

Homefront is set in a near future America in 2027 when a now-nuclear armed Korean People's Army invades the USA, defeating the United States Army and reducing it to nothing from the superpower it once was. The game is written by John Milius who co-wrote Apocalypse Now and wrote Red Dawn. The beginning gameplay is reportedly set in Montrose, Colorado

Homefront's gameplay has been completely reworked from its origins in Frontlines: Fuel of War, with new game modes planned, a new suite of weapons and a totally new single player game. This game will not be following the reporter like in Frontlines: Fuel of War.

The game reportedly has a 'magnetism' feature. This means that certain events will be drawn into and around the player in order to make the player feel more the centre of the action (in a trailer shown, a crashing helicopter is 'attracted' to the player and crashes just next to them)

LOL

First off South and North Korea will never unite. Thats utter bollocks. They are almost at war with each other. Secondly by 2015 Japan will never surrender. They are the techno geeks and when other nations roam in humvees and tanks they will send out heir mechs and nanosuits and robot armies Smile Also the second trailer sounded too much like Terminator and that resistance message that John Connor sent out. The games resistance leader is even named CONNOR Mason. AAAND it looks like to be one of those games again where GOD BLESS AMERICA is the main focus which is pffffft.

You should do some reading first.

Since the ceasefire of the Korean War in 1953 the relations between the North Korean government and South Korea, the European Union, Canada, the United States, and Japan have remained tense. Fighting was halted in the ceasefire, but both Koreas are still technically at war. Both North and South Korea signed the June 15th North-South Joint Declaration in 2000, in which both sides made promises to seek out a peaceful reunification. Additionally, on October 4, 2007, the leaders of North and South Korea pledged to hold summit talks to officially declare the war over and reaffirmed the principle of mutual non-aggression.

What was declared in 2000 is a little different from what will and is happening, especially considering what's going right now. It's enough to follow the news to see that there won't be a peaceful reunification anytime soon. Also as far as I know, they still are technically at war.

But in any case, I don't think it was said in the trailer that South Korea joined willingly Smile
It's interesting how they took the opportunity to tie in real world events into this. Seems like an interesting premise.

Hmm, seems completely unplausable. If NK would even dream of such things, they would wake up with a nuclear fallout on their hands.

If they made a move on Japan, the USA would bomb the shit out of them so fast, they wouldn't even know what struck them.

NK might have the third largest army, but two things : 1. they are not trained as well 2. they are not equipped as well.

I think for every US soldier lost at least 10 NKs would die. At least.

I read that the US is bankrupt in this game and the US military is technologically backward.

The whole world seems to be bankrupt, central banks are now printing shitloads of money, so soon we need more deflationary events like war, war is a classical solution to inflation (printing money) by making bombs that are blown up (deflationary) so that the wealth of the rich stays in balance and isn't diluted by too much printed money.

Who the fuck cares if you think the US could rule the planet and kill everybody if they wanted to? It's a game, not a prediction of what is going to happen in the future.

This game is pure fantasy.. South Korea would never become communist again, Japan basically folds. WTF does china do?
Russia? Europe?

Did North Korea suddenly develop some kind of super secret weapon that would enable them to roll over those places? I doubt it.. even their army would be stretched thin with that kind of area to cover.

I guess the constant nagging from the gaming community about the over-usage of nazis and russians as the default villain is getting really-really-really old finally penetrated. So who's the next most notable bad-guy in mainstream media? North Korea. After that, they can invent whatever unprobable stories for their partiotic games, as long as it sells good (and since NK is antagonized all over the media, it will sell good).

The only possible explanation for this timeline is that a stupidity virus attacks the population of Earth and somehow the North Korean leadership is immune.

Seriously? A peaceful re-United Korea under a communist regime conquering Japan and the rest of SE Asia without China nor Russia stopping them AND even so, not having problems with Indonesian population?

Well, I'm Portuguese, so care less about if America is invaded or not. What I do care is about some logic and sense in the stories.

The game actually looks good, but seeing China and India joining up 10 years from now a federation led by Koreans makes my head hurt.

Korea annexs China and India...

wtf..
they annex a country more than 10x their size in population and even much larger in land mass?
It just isn't feasible at all.
There are alternate time lines and there are drug fueled fantasies.
obviously we know what this is.

Korea just wouldn't have the manpower to maintain control over that much land and then attack the US.

not at all, but their leaps of faith aren't this big.

It provided a quite decent SP experience, but the multiplayer part was terribly flawed and totally plagued by bugs and hits detection issues which has never been fixed.

As usual, they're planning ahead of time. This will most likely suck ass and sell bad, they can then blame piracy etc.

They should focus less on the dlc and more on the fucking game. Turds.

True, most images don't show HUD elements and focus more on other things, same with most game screens, videos and more game-like images will probably appear closer to the games release although these appear to be in game and show how the game will look like.

This looks awesome I love the plausible storyline and the settings look really detailed and graphically looks awesome! as long as the shooting mechanics are really fun it looks good so far. I like the fact that they are untrained civilians that's cool i wonder how much it will change the playstyle?
