Is this the nerve, that hurts at the base of the butt where the leg starts?
If so..  I feel your pain bro.. happens to me like every month or two..

Had it for years due to driving and sititng in seat so long 
still get it now due to pc sitting long spells make sure you stretch a ton and the bed u sleep in is comfortable and not aching lumpy shit lol..
oh btw, not many meds can help as its a direct nerve issue :O bwhahahaha |

Massage the hell out of it asap (after 2-3 sessions the pain should already go away), and do some proper, slow and specific exercises if you have time. Pilates is good as well. It really works if the situation isn't too critical 
source: I have one hernia and a half, so this is a daily problem for me xD (And I should really stop doing sports, but as long as I can resist, I'm game  )
