**Locations throughout the game world have been re-designed with new aesthetic and gameplay detail.
**A new soundtrack has been composed by the symphonic electronica duo EdenShard, based on the original score.
**High Resolution Textures courtesy of New Vision.
**High Detail 3D models courtesy of Project HDTP.

You need the original Deus Ex on Steam *and* installed before this will work Smile

You *could* try it on a yarr/retail/GOG build;

https://www.dx-revision.com/
https://www.dx-revision.com/download/

Get the standalone installer, try to install over your existing DX install.

wow it's a 5gig download. The original must have looked pretty crap because this graphical improvement doesn't look any better then how I remembered the original to be. Is ti worth the download for a replay at all?.

SE should remake DE on the Mankind Divided engine.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

I haven't played any of it yet, but from what I've seen of the previews; it's meant to be quite extensive. Completely redone maps in a lot of areas, lots of new clutter and world design fixes and a whole new soundtrack. Worth 5GB? Dunno Very Happy

Aye, it does explicitly state that.. but it's still just a mod at heart, so who knows? Perhaps it'll work? Smile

True. Just saw the steam keys for dx go for like 2$. might as well get one instead of potentially waste time. Not like you can ever spend enough money on dx 1. Will wait till someone confirms its worth playing though.

The new 'soundtrack' is horrible. It's exactly like the remixes of the early 2000's where some kid would listen to an already good track and think. This really needs more base and distortion! And then proceeeds to add that and call it a "remix" or "improved" it's absolute shit.
But I didn't expect that they'd be able to improve upon the original soundtrack anyway as it was already perfect.

Pretty ballsy of those two fuckers to mess with the original soundtrack. It didn't need messing with, and their new variants sound like utter shit.

Edit - Epsilon beat me to it. Very Happy

To further add insult to injury, if you simply delete the horrible shitty excuse for music in this mod. You get no music at all in the game, it doesn't just default to playing the standard tracks.
Investigating further shows that they've segmented the tracks into individual ogg files, which is what the mod is looking for to play music. And I just can't be bothered converting the old OST right now, I'm too pissed off due to me having to listen to that shit soundtrack.

Settings-->Sound-->Soundtrack (Disabled)

This restores the original OST. Nice spot QQQ. Very Happy

The environment textures are way better but that's not due to the mod itself, it's because they incorporated an old texture mod called New Vision. Gun models are higher quality too.

As for being worth a download, probably only for old school Deus Ex fans who want to experience the game in a new way.

Do you know by any chance if Revision is compatible with GMDX? Because I really need something different from the vanilla experience that goes along well with the graphical goodies. Razz

If you use Deus Exe I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be, as it would just overwrite whatever custom scripts they use with the GMDX ones and keep the models and textures.
Additionally the developer of GMDX also worked on Revision.

Goddamn, the mapping in this is incredible - they really did take DX and improve on it in a big way. Everything from the little touches with extra clutter and scenery objects, to complete map rearrangements and changes that make more organic sense. It really is done very well and hey, as sacrilegious as it sounds, I quite like the music too grinhurt
