That's what the default operation is, no? X okay, O cancel. It's always been that way afaik.
~edit~
You don't have an Asian PS3, perhaps? It's only Asian (usually HK/CH/JP) machines that have OX reversed and the only way to change it is via CFW or on debug machines, specifically Rebug/Debug FW, or Rogero's button changer.

Well the morons at GTA didn't think it through. I run with X but also hang up the phone with X. A call comes in while running and...

Doesn't really matter, if I can't switch, it doesn't matter where it's from. As usually retard Asians and their bullshit.

For ex asian games/rlses are like that on no matter what region your system is for. |
I have USA PSN version. Somehow I doubt it's the rls problem.

The bug LeoNathan has is sadly well known, I remember another game having the same issue and you couldn't finish the game because of the X/O swapped on asian PS3 : the James Bond Blood Stone game needed you to press X to hack a camera or what not, but neither X or O worked on an asian PS3 --> so you were stuck
The only way to fix this is to install a CFW as sabin said.
Or............. but it's a PITA : you do it on another CFW PS3, and use data transfer to transfer your CFW PS3 content to your OFW one : it will transfer the swap X/O setting too.

@LeoNatan : there is nothing to elaborate. Just find someone with a CFW and use what sabin said you to use on it to swap X/O.
That way when you'll use Data Transfer (via Ethernet), to transfer the whole content of his PS3 to yours (will format yours), it'll also transfer the configuration file that swaps X/O and it will remain swapped on your PS3 too.
