Hi guys, I will be in Amsterdam for few days for a conference around 9/17-9/24

Any suggestions - other than the usual tourist crap of where to go? For example any specific coffee shop you recommend, clubs, restaurants? I am not a big fan of touristy spots so any help is welcome! Looking forward to this trip!

Been there a couple of years back with some friends, we mostly smoked weed and did touristy stuff: but handsdown the best day we had was when we just rented some bikes and rode around. Weather was beautiful, not too hot, not too cold, you get to see a lot more of the streets and interesting locations, and there are tons of other bikers. There are bike lanes everywhere and people actually pay attention to them.

Duh, because in the NL, if you hit a bicycle with your car, you are ALWAYS fault, no matter what happened.

I know it's a fucking retarded rule, because people started to abuse it and be reckless on bicycle or foot, not even watching their surroundings and just being fucking retards..
Lucky that you can't sue here in the NL like you can in the US, otherwise this would had even been worse Razz

Ice cream at vd Linde. It's a smallish shop in the Nieuwendijk, a street which runs parallel to Damrak from Central Station to 'de Dam'. Best whipped cream ice cream I've ever tasted Smile

This isn't fully true but in 99% of the cases it is, trust me I study law.
