i dont have a problem with this look. if theres a jailbreak for it, im sure there will be 'old ios' themes and stuff for those who hate it...im more curious what new features are coming. has there been any word on that? i am a n00b to ios, so i dont really know the history of it throughout the years enough to know what to expect with a major release like this. should i even be excited?

That's not iOS7, that's some bored "designer's" concept.
If you want a taste of things to come, see the Apple WWDC app.

Meh... why even change it? I know it's just a rumor, but I'm pretty fond of the roudned corners we have.
Does iOS7 mean we can expect a new iPhone announcement as well in the near future?

BTW, that squared icon on Apple portal is either fake or was bug. I uploaded an IPA today, and icons were round. Likely a CSS issue or CSS disabled on purpose to create "buzz" and show ridiculous concepts. I stopped visiting redmond pie and idownloadblog because these morons get excited about every piece of shit "concept" that "artists" make which are so horrible.

You will likely get an iPhone announcement in a different event later this year.

If anything, that's a steal from Windows Phone. In fact, Android turned into "clean" after WP7 released. Take a look at some old Android shots to see what shit it was.

Awesome updates..
Glad I got an iPhone 5. I was hoping iOS 7 would give some awesome new features that I love about Android.. And it does. Melds some of the best features of Android and Web OS.

Lots of Android influences and some from BB10, only the multi-tasking switching comes from WebOS almost 1:1. Using edge swipes = win.
I like the flat look, but Airdrop only for the latest generation? Fuck off

Well nothing about keyboards (unless I missed it), so that's still a major downside for me. Aside from the icon hell. I'll stick with Android for phones, iOS for tablets.
And no, iOS 5 still supported the 3GS entirely. The only thing limited was the face recognition/video stabilising, which made sense since devices prior to the 4S had a horrible, horrible camera. The 4S came out along with iOS pretty much. Last product launch this time was months ago already and my iPad 3 (sorry..."new" iPad? iPad? 2012 iPad?) came out just over a year ago. Not that it *really* bothers me, since I don't know anyone with Apple devices, but still. It's a shitty move. Just a pure marketing move to get people to buy the new things.

Didn't IOS 5 have Siri and 3GS didn't get Siri?
Or was that the 4/4s
Nothing changed with the keyboard besides the fact that it is transparent now so you can see stuff under it. Which IMO is the most needed 'change'. I personally wouldn't want the iOS keyboard to change since i'm so used to it.

That might be right actually. I know it launched on the 4S exclusively, but I'm not sure if it was backported to the 3GS or not.

It doesn't need to change, they just need to open up the API. Swiftkey, Swype and plenty of others are standing by to get theirs onto the platform. I personally still don't like the iOS keyboard, even on an iPad. It's personal preference of course, but there's just much more efficient keyboards out there.

It is likely to be fixed in subsequent betas. There have been issues like this in the past.

Anyone with a dev account that minds adding my UDID to their account?

well air drop sounds like a nice built in feature. the rest of the ui stuff is pretty much built in jailbreak tweaks (auxo/zephyr especially). good for the sake of progress i suppose, but nothing i am personally super excited for. ill probably keep my jailbreak going for the foreseeable future.
@Interinactive it looks ok with a black bg (theres a mini preview on redmondpie)...still bad design if its dependent on the bg to 'work'...

Figured out you don't even need your UDID assigned to a dev account to get it to work. You can load 7 without doing a restore, so no activation screen required.
Pretty happy with it. There is some weirdness in the GUI here and there that I imagine they'll be fixing but overall it's great.
Be sure you turn off 'Frequent Locations' under location services. The shit runs non-stop and will drain battery life if you don't. Also there is a new settings page for true multitask/background apps and i'd toggle everything you see in there off (should only be weather and stocks right now) otherwise those apps will basically always be running it seems ATM.
Oh, and iRadio kicks ass. Yes, it's Pandora but now I don't need Pandora installed and it works straight in the built in music app without flaw.

So this means there might actually be real controllers for iOS with the new software? Is it already known if Apple with produce a controller themselves, or if they just allow others to do it?
If this is true, I am more than glad that I god an Ipad. This could be really great, just connecting your Ipad to the TV and being ready to play. Especially FPS should benefit from this, I still find it a chore to play those on touch (I would prefer keyboard/mouse actually, but controller would be fine in any case). This could push mobile gaming up a notch, and make things a bit harder for next gen consoles IMO.
