I have found out, that the KPF allows to block cd-key checks at installing certain games.

It did block cd key check in Republic Commando, MoH: Pacific Assault and Brothers in Arms.
All the games have installed without problems.

Funny Smile I wonder if that affects online play...?

You do realize that those games have no online key checks during installation, right? Your firewall didnt block anything, there was nothing to block.

It is not like this: some games execute an application called cd check. At least so it seems. Kerio asks you if you want to execute each and every component, so it ask for example to execute setup.exe, and then cdkeycheck or whatever it is called. So you just block an execution of the component which would have been executed otherwise. I never said its a wonder cracking tool to bypass online checks and play pirated games online. It is just useful to install some leeched games without typing in cdkeys and I think it's quite a nice feature... especially if the key given in nfo somehow doesn't work. or if you've lost the nfo file.
It is obvious that typing in cd key is not essential to install the game, at least the single player.
