Build: (null)

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD Unknown processor @ 1819 MHz [1236712947712.000000 0] with 639MB RAM

General protection fault!

Yes, I read other threads about this same problem. There are just WAY TOO many threads for this problem; I don't have time to read through all of them. I just need someone to tell me what the problem is; so far from the threads I have read, most of the people don't know what the problem is. I am kind of frustrated because I cannot get this game working while others can. Also, I don't have the latest ATI drivers - The reason is that my whole computer completely slows down when I install the latest ATI drivers. But then again, most people who got this error usually stated that they had the latest ATI drivers so I don't know if that is the problem. There is really no other information that I can provide other than the specs of my computer below.

Pc specs:
Athlon64 2800 - It cannot be the SSE problem as SSE is enabled.
Radeon 9600 - The BIA specs don't state any problems with this specific videocard from my understanding.
Windows XP with SP1 - I noticed that people with a general Protection fault all have the same version of Windows XP build as me(2600) which could be the problem.

I have pretty much the same hardware config as u but i have SP2 installed...try installing sp2 and see if it works

before u install sp2, uninstall any p2p appz and run an adware scan + a virus scan
use this adware scanner, free and good

I'm sorry, but you've been owned, there is no fix, except suicide.
