Hey razor1294, (and every swede on this board), did you just see Debatt?

Anyway, Henrik Pontén (works for the Swedish Anti-Piracy Bureau) is sure that piracy can be stopped! My question is: Do you think that´s possible?

Nopes.. It can't be stopped, its growing rapidly and downloadin' like MP3 are starting to get common in the families.

So my answet would be no it's impossible they have to shut down the hole internet to stop it

Exactly, it can´t be stopped. I mean for every idea that they come up with, we "pirates" will have a countermeasure. And as Mutantius said, it´s too widely spread by now, and the would have to shut down almost all activity to stop it.

It was Henrik Pontén, Anders Nillson (director of Noll Tolerans etc), and Ayesha Quraishi (arist and director of a record company) vs. Julien Nebbout (Piratbyrån), Jens (the founder of Jens of Sweden) and a guy who had been busted of selling pirated material when he was 17. The "pirate" side won imo, and in many others opinion too.

Ofcourse they won, the antipiracybureau and it's supporters cannot win unless they first change society into a fascist regime where Big Brother is watching. (Orwellian, isn't it?).

What makes me afraid is, that the media industry is trying to do that. New laws and stuff. The do strong lobbying (bribeing?) with the politicans.

They want to crimiinalize everyone. No mather if it is a 12year old kid, they all want them in jail.

All I can say. Stand up, and don't give them your money anymore. You can do smarter things with it.

Question to those who saw it:
Did they talk about the Attacks on Henrik? (SMS bomb and stuff)

yea thats it there's ALLWAYS a story in the news about some1 being sued over file sharing. they're just trying to shit everyone up and i bet for a while it did shit some people up. i was only shitted once when some1 id known for a while was sued for 5000$ but that only made me more cautious for a week when i realised that they could still bust me on my past there's no escaping if i have 500 games or 1.

well i find it good that the record company& artist she atleast knew something had to be done and was abit smarter then the movie director... and Henrik hes just a lawyer who wanna play cop, that wasnt bright enought to get into the academy.. Wink Very Happy

the fun thing is how NONE of the ones for downloading accually said "stop calling us pirates" cause pirates are the ones that make money on selling stolen stuff..

well Jens realy did assfuck Henrik when he asked how the hell henrik could know so much about what was in banhoffs servers...without having a courtorder to look for the stuff he found...

im pretty sure Jens of Sweden are good to have on "our" side...

just hope that fat, stupid director understands that Cinemas aint the future.. not when everyone has a home cinema... Very Happy

he also said that the cinemas was where they made the money not the dvd's.. well then find out another way to make money.. nobody wanna go to cinemas anymore.. not when u can watch good quallity movies at home with 5.1 DTS & high bitrate..

I just discussed this thourougly on another forum so I'm not gonna get into details. I did not see the show unfortunately. I guess I'll have to download it.

Piracy may not get stopped totally but the newer hardware based copy protectection technologies will hinder it severely. As FBI and CIA are working hard together with new antipiracy bureaus, most of the hardcore crackers will be arrested in the coming years. It's a fact as more crackers and site owners are getting arrested like never before these days.

Yeah i guess as well that most of the crackers will get busted in the coming years, but there is not a chance that piracy is going to stop.

Maybe we won't get as much pre-store release as we do now cause most of the supplier will get scared but movies will keep on being ripped as well as mp3 and games.

What they are doing now is just to scare the basic p2p user, everyday i'm reading in the newspaper that pirate have been bust...and to be honnest i'm getting scared...but if you are a p2p user and if you don't share (and don't sell of course) there is not a chance you will get in trouble

Siteop/Linkop/Groups/Gadmin/Supplier/Racer should be more worried as it seems they are trying to bust from the *source* (topsite)...but for every site they bust another will appear same for the groups...and with all the security on topsite like user/password+Ip filtered+SSL/BNC it won't be easy to find them.

Once again i think that all leechers should be gratefull for what all those guy are doing cause at the end of the day they are taking ALL the Risk...think about it...

erm , without taking down the groups the piracy remains , no matter how many sites you take down ... needless to remind you of ViTE ... or not so long ago , FLT .. ? lets take a look at divx / games scene now ... for every group there are 2 new groups ..

They can never stop piracy completely, they may shut some groups down, put ordinary people in jail and fine them for hundreds of thousand kronor but they will never stop it.

BTW i saw two swedish groups thats already closed down, too bad.

Very Happy Hi guys, newbie here, but i have alot to say! which you lot will find out over the coming weeks lol

No way will they ever be able to stop it. As long as the stores make a profit from us guys, (and gals) buying media, cases etc, it will keep going. Scuse french, but fuck it, we pay tax on ever item we buy! And if the studios and record labels didn't rip us off every single time we buy a legit dvd/cd, there wouldn't be such a market for cheap films and music?

No biting my head off, be nice, I'm sparkly new!

Note lack of cool sig................. any offers? lol

Yes you're right on the media part. If you are a heavy regular downloader you will need media frequently. 100pack dvdr per month is not unusual for me. About the sig, head over HERE to spread the message about this wonderful browser.
