I'm thinking about subscribing to one in near future, hopefully by end of the year.

I found this, http://www.bestvpnservice.com/

but not sure, any of you using VPN service by any of them? I'm quite sceptical when it comes to websites that list best xxx in the xxx replace with a word of your choice

Any inputs? Thanks!

using hide my ass for the past year or so, sharing it with a couple of friends ( you can log on the same time as far as i can tell ).

good selection of servers, i can stream from US servers just fine ( netflix ) british ( bbc iplayer) and german ones also ( sport streams ).

It has internal benchmark tool to bench all servers of a certain country to make the selection easier, also it will warn you if the server you selected is under high load and will advise you to use one in the same datacenter with less load.

I never used any other VPN service so i cant compare , but HMA does everything i want it to do and is very reliable, its nothing like those free proxies out there.

incloak/hideme.ru. been using their free trials for quite a while and never had any problems so far. can't say anything about their paid service though.

I will up the topic due to the recent situation with usenet.
I read the article on TF plus the comments and got to the point to trust no vpn provider. I was looking into btguard but their site is rather lucking plus they state in their privacy policy that they do collect personal data.
Most of all I'm interested in connection speed via vpn.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Everyone's got their favourite vpn but don't be fooled. I like the hma service too, it's easy and everywhere, typical amerikan corporate thinking which is why I'm not surprised to hear they are give ups.
I relegated em to a secondary slot once they began the same corporate shit that most US based vpn's have instituted since the introduction of the gmail/FB/hotmail/itunes universal user identification program in early 2012. That is it doesn't matter how secure your payment is, if you try and subscribe anonymously hide my ass come back demanding some other form of ID verification allegedly "to prevent fraud" unless you give em a phone number or traceable email addy they won't do business. Easynews demand the same sort of ID before they allow you to post nowadays.
These places claim to maintain yer anonymity but since the Kim Dotcom/megaupload bust they are all shit-scared of being done by the fbi n having all their money taken away & now they insist on being able to ID customers so if push comes to shove they can throw you under the bus n they keep their profits.

As for the stupid remark about vpns not existing to protect lawbreakers, that is the whole point, there are very few things that aren't illegal somewhere in the world and increasingly peeps are being prosecuted by nations for crimes they are alleged to have committed on the net. Trouble is what they are charged with isn't illegal where they live and they have never set foot in or, in many cases even communicated with the jurisdiction that wants to extradite them to face the charges.
This is crazy stuff selective laws enforced selectively always leads to injustice which is why many peeps prefer to use vpn's. If vpn's can't guarantee anonymity the net is turned into a huge game of russian roulette, low odds sure but if your turn does come up, life in a supermax is a big bullet. In other words we're back to information flows being regulated by the usual mob of assholes I.E. mega rich n their politician ass-lickers.

That and their costumer service is pretty awesome.
They helped me out getting it to work on my ipad from my ipad. Even with dcs all the time and reconnecting to them they still helped me out.

Was that suppose to be funny?

VPNSecure.me is kinda expensive, would be $100 for a full year, but they have dedicated IP which frankly most of other websites do not.

I was thinking about privateinternetaccess.com it's only 40$ a year but I read they customer service is pretty good

Don't see why not the VPN connection is defined on individual machines rather than the router don't see why a NAS would need to do it differently.
