Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Description:

Engage in this saga set in the Golden Age of the Republic - over 4,000 years before the first Star Wars film, when both Jedi and Sith number in the thousands. Your actions determine the outcome of this colossal galactic war - and your destiny as a Jedi.

* Your group, comprised of up to 3 characters, can include humans, droids, Twi'leks, Wookiees and more.

* Journey spans ten different worlds ranging from the familiar to the new.
* Locations include Tatooine, Sith world of Korriban, Jedi Academy on Dantooine and Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk.

This is amazing Shocked I love seeing mobile gaming getting better and better, though I think I'll skip on this simply due to the lack of modding potential that the PC has. Still, damned impressive nonetheless!

Laughing ... hope they port it too. I guess it will because EA got the full license to release Star Wars games.

Let's see these 2 questions, they are not filled in yet

Q: Are there any plans for an iPhone version.

Considering the size of the screen and how difficult moving already is on touchscreen, I'd say there's absolutely no chance of hitting smaller devices like iPhone or Android phones. Android TABLETS might come, depending on how much Aspyr wants money grinhurt

Anyhow; here's the first 30 minutes running on iPad, though unsure WHAT model iPad.

What is the problem with 1.8GB on iPhone? Already there are games that are that size and run on both iPhone and iPad. In fact, speaking purely of performance, the iPhone 5 would yield a better performance because it has a significantly lower resolution, while having a very powerful GPU and CPU.

I disagree with that, there are alot of games with the same function as KOTOR.

I never said anything about the install size being a problem. RR3 is already larger and The Bard's Tale was 1.7GB+ too. I'm talking about screen size, which is significantly smaller than that of a tablet and would hinder gameplay. Whether some people are fine with that is neither here nor there, I won't speak for preference Very Happy

Watch the video, see how cluttered the UI is and how cumbersome the controls are. This isn't a tiny little virtual DPAD in the corner, even on the iPad you have to cover so much of the screen just in movement alone.

I did, all i noticed is that i didn't see any finger work. This means the game can be controlled by your mind ... or a emulator. How am i doing ? Laughing

Other then that, you don't need a tab to run this game. I am pretty sure it would run fine on a S3 too.

Not only is the game rather aliased, but it also lacks a lot of the PC (and even the original Xbox!) special effects, there's almost no post-processing, no shadows, less light sourcing, janky framerate. It's been stripped down quite a lot. Still pretty impressive to see it running on an iPad though Smile

It is not only a great game, it is also a great Star Wars game. I found it to fit perfectly in the universe, making use of the possibilities that the movies give to games. It is not just some random game skinned to have Star Wars characters and opening music, this is a true Star Wars game through and through which makes it something of a rare kind of games..

Since my wife is getting into RPGs lately, I installed KoTOR on my iPad 2 for her -- I have to say, I am impressed they managed to get KoTOR running on an iPad Very Happy It's just a shame about the missing post-processing and shadows, apparently the game has .inis just like the PC version, but doesn't appear to read any tweaks to them, according to some posts I've read online. It wouldn't surprise me if shadows were physically disabled at the engine level.

Also, I can imagine it looks a whole lot worse running on high-res devices like iPad3+, here it looks rather nice since the iPad 2 uses a standard PC res anyhow; 1024x768. A tad aliased, unfortunately, but not too bad.

I´m playing on my ipad 4 and I don´t feel detracted from the experience by the graphics.

I don´t even think about it.

Besides, it beats every other game I tried.

For the first time I played 2h straight on the ipad Smile

Try to decompile the .ipa file to see if there are any .ini files in there.
