The Sims 4 web domain appears to have been registered by EA, with the game's unveiling expected on Monday (May 6), according to a NeoGAF forum post.
The new web domain, thesims4.com, is already active and links back to the official Sims site.

It has been speculated that The Sims 4 could require an always-online connection like the latest Sim City sequel.

I'm expecting great things from EA, please don't disappoint us! Laughing

Your house will be limited to three rooms and your family to three people. This action is necessary due to the massive computing power required to simulate fake people and housing.

Sadly, this is likely to be the excuse Sad Sims 1 and Sims 2 are legendary, Sims 3 brings some great gameplay advancements but unfortunately succumbs to Maxis/EA vile greed and is a DLC fuckfest. I expect worse for Sims 4 Sad

The downside to LCP is that you're more of a watcher than a doer, it's like having a fish tank full of interesting fish but that's about it Neutral

looks great, cant wait!

As dodger pointed out, the constant internet connection is necessary. The sims are real humans that are connected via tubes and gizmos to get their consciousness beamed directly into our game.

Haha almost, I don't have the game installed here on the laptop so I had to dig up a youtube video and use that instead. Razz Still, more than enough to show the revolutionary concept behind the game!

Announced: Cute Pom Pom's

Quote:
Maxis announced The Sims 4 this morning, which is coming to PC and Mac in 2014. More details are due later today, EA said in its announcement.

"The Sims franchise is fueled by the passion and creativity of its millions of fans around the world," reads EA's announcement. "Their continued devotion to the franchise ignites the fire of creativity of the team at The Sims Studio, driving them to continually improve and innovate on one of the world's most successful simulation game that has sold more than 150 million copies worldwide."

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

So, just like Sims 3, we'll remove modding capability and instead force our "passionate" and "creative" fans into buying all custom content from our enormously overprice store.

They said the same thing about SC5 until about a year ago. Sure, that community debacle might have managed to penetrate their thick dinosaur skulls, but don't believe a word they say until you actually play it. Smile

You can keep adding crap on top of crap and it still is crap Cool Face

Ok Sims 3 wasn't crap. But the underlying systems are so bad the game gets really frustrating for me to play. I don't mind if they exclude most features from expansions as usual, as long as they really take their time to refine the AI / pathfinding, etc, then I'll probably buy the game.

EA have got a taste of it now... perfect no piracy rate, millions of sales, free publicity from all the drama from the "vocal minority" being covered by the press. Bad publicity is still publicity and it's obviously not hurt sales of Sim City one iota. Yeah... Sims 4 will be online.

Pathfinding has ALWAYS been terrible in the Sims games, but what exactly was crap about Sims 3? Aside from the lack of mod tools and over-reliance on the Sims Store bullshit? The game improved on the predecessors in every other way - including performance. Oh wait, sorry, one huge stepback; terraforming in Sims 3 was cut down.
