Yeah this thread was totally inspired by the Suicide Squad. It got me thinking though. I know most of the super heroes in the Marvel universe but I don't care whatsoever about the bad guys.

Now I do believe that DC has less good super heroes but I just realized that I love most of their super villains. And more specifically the ones from the Batman universe (not so much Superman). They all, or many of them at least, have some good proper characterization of why they are like that. Even Joker has one, despite him being the ultimate evil.

Though I wonder if my mind has been twisted by Batman: The Animated Series which introduced Harley Quinn and Mr. Freeze (don't mention The Guvernator ). Two villains that were just so damn good they became canon.

Off the top of my head (and at least on first impression level) I can only think of the X-Men villains to be anywhere near Batman.

Marvel has a lot of good villains.
Joker is only good in the movies...

You go Kingpin, Carnage, Venom, Doom, Apocalypse, Silver-Surfer until he got a heart, Galactus, Ultron, Red Skull, Mysterio, Omega Red, Mandarin (what the trailers for iron man 3 showed could've been so AWESOME), The Goblins, Chameleon, Obvi Magneto, Deadpool/Punisher, Sinister... There's a whole lot.

To compare to best batman villians aka joker and two face and maybe riddler (lol nobody else is entertaining enough)

Carnage, Doom, Mandarin, Magneto, Sinister, Kingpin, Venom, Apoc, and if you wanna bring in mr. Freeziepop, then silver-surfer. Tho silver-surfer by himself has more character than most of batman DC villans. The shit he had to go through to save his people, and then get backstabbed... god. That cartoon was DAARK!
