Action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his much-anticipated return to the big screen in Korean director Kim Jee-woon's hard-hitting US directorial debut, THE LAST STAND. After leaving his LAPD narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that peaceful existence is shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy. With the help of a fierce band of lawless mercenaries led by the icy Burrell (Peter Stormare), Cortez begins racing towards the US-Mexico border at 250 mph in a specially-outfitted Corvette ZR1 with a hostage in tow.
Funny thing is that no one really took over after Arnie quit for politics. People where expecting Vin Diesel or Dwayne Johnson, but it never happened. They even shot this famous cameo in The Rundown, where Arnie wishes Dwayne Johnson's character good luck (have fun). An obvious hint to that he was to be the new "action star".
So I guess, It's fun to see him back, obviously not in the same form, but still.
It's hard to replace arnie. dwayne is doing pretty well. and he has fun doing what he's doing. but no one is going to take him seriously, and i don't think he wants to be taken seriously. he just wants to have fun and do fun flicks that he'll enjoy. If someone gave him a serious role... lol... he'd butcher it and won't come back to us ever again
i hope its good. i hope its one of those films that you completely thoroughly enjoy and turns out to be a badass ride that you enjoy all the way through.

im just imaging all these scrawny ass thin tall blue dudes, and along comes ahh-nuld, this MASSIVE bulging blue goliath coming in on one of those huge flying monster things, thats clearly strugging to stay up in the air because arnie is so fucking massive, before he nose-dives it into the ground, in a huge swirl of dust, which finally clears... and then there he is... standing up tall, with one foot on the head of this dazed semi-alive bird monster, saying "im BACK".
