Was driving in front of my house, ended up blocking the intersection. I panicked, put the car in reverse, ended up hitting a car behind me. I caved her bumper in, mine is a bit loose too which implies damage underneath. Will probably end up costing me $1k (insurance deductible). Fuck, just got this car 2 weeks ago too.
It's all my fault. It's the stupidest fucking driving mistake ever. And I fucking hate myself for it right now. Going to pop open a bottle of red wine, get myself banned from League of Legends for trolling, and go to bed.

Don't think it does any good to tell someone not to panic. It's just how someone reacts at the moment.
Tainted....glad you are ok. Sucks about the money but we all get into accidents

That sucks so bad... I was backing out from a huge parking lot some years ago. When you're backing out its pretty much you fault no matter what. So im backing slowly out and a car comes in 40-50 behind be, I think im able to stop before he rushed past me... but no. A looong line of scraped paint. No "real" damage, but OMFG that got expensive. Not had my own insurance before now. Its a lot cheaper insurance for me now too, im almost 25.

The plastic 'bumper' shroud that covers the real bumper on modern cars is an expensive piece. Been this way since the mid 90's or so when manufacturers went through the last major visual design change. Before that the bumper was always a bit of an eye-sore but at least was cheap and easy to replace.

Modern cars' integrated "bumpers" are such a joke, they can't take any hits whatsoever. Like someone said, they're "like health insurance - terrific for catastrophic accidents, worthless for anything else".

Don't worry Tainted, it's so easy to make mistakes nowadays with our stressful lives  . Look on the bright side and be glad that both of you are fine. And before you ask, yes, something like that happened to me too 3-4 years ago xD (thankfully it it din't cost that much, but still..)

how? more details please. intersection as say here in uk a cross road or a T junction intersect, where more traffic meets together to make turning choices?
if so what made you stop to block it in first place lol ?

Nothing "made him" stop. If there is so much traffic in front of you and it suddenly stops moving while you're in the middle of the intersection you have no option but to stop.

i guessis driving license is weeks old.
with 2 month driver licence, i had my car to the scrapyard in a stupid accident.
