Quote:
As the clouds part, they reveal an unexceptional, greenish brown island alone in a blue, rippling sea. A minute rowboat, no larger than a grain of rice from this far-off distance, slowly glides toward the landmass. Pulling up to the beach, a silent adventurer fastens the craft to a post on the shore. Moving inland, he scales a sheer cliff as the wind whips his cloak. Signs of habitation appear up ahead in the form of a rocky trail and hand-carved stone stairs. The path leads him to his destination – a towering cave at the summit. He draws his sword and enters the pitch-black passage. Who is this wanderer? Why is he here? Most importantly, what lies below?

Below is an adventure game viewed from a top-down perspective. The player-character is a "tiny warrior exploring the depths of a remote island". The game is about exploration, though that goal is contingent upon the character's survival. Microsoft's Phil Spencer described the game at E3 2013 as a "creative take on roguelike gameplay" in a "mysterious world". The environments are randomly generated.

The game is designed to be difficult, with "brutal but fair combat" and permanent death.
Capybara Games' atmospheric roguelike Below debuted on stage at Microsoft's E3 press conference, but a new trailer confirms that the Xbox One title will be coming to Steam as well.

I can't see this doing too well on the Xbone. No hand holding or anything that tells you what to do is going to confuse the "dude bro" Xbone gamers Razz If they don't have the "I win" button their heads explode Wink

This will be perfect on the PC though with the intricate graphics and the roguelike gameplay.

Can't wait. I love exploring and discovering things out for myself Smile

kinda has the graphic style of monument valley on phone. i also like how simple the graphics are, but how expressive the animation is. it looks quite nice in motion imo. i hope the gameplay is as polished and thoughtful as the visuals.

Like a grim version of the classic Zelda games.
