My favorite type of movies and stories are those that incorporate time travel as a main story focus and I've been meaning to find some books that have this as well since I've watched pretty much every good time travel movie there is to see...

I've found a few through the net but thought I'd ask you guys as well since I know some of you also share this interest. Smile

My favorite time travel movie is Primer, that should tell you what kind of a book I'm looking for. I don't really want one where they travel hundreds of years back or forward (unless it's extremely good), I want those where the time traveling is the main focus/mystery moving the plot forward, like in Primer. The more down to earth/scientific it is the better, and yeah, it should be a story, not theoretical papers/studies or whatever.

I know this is pretty specific but I'm hoping someone can recommend at least one! ^^

Asimov had an excellent book on time travel, but I'll be damned if I can remember its name.

Ah, google comes to the rescue again:

I love that book and I have probably read it 5-6 times throughout the years.

In Swedish it's called "Tidens död".

You never read his brilliant robot series?

The Caves of Steel
The Naked Sun
The Robots of Dawn
Robots and Empire

They're brilliant, very very clever books with adventure and some connections to the foundation (same universe, some connections etc.)

And of course, all the stories about Susan Calvin, the robopsychologist, precursors to the robot series.

I've read some nice non-fiction stuff about time travel in Michio Kaku's books. No novels, but an accessible explanation about the physics behind time travel.

Number of the Beast - Robert Heinlein This is a parody of pulp SF, but a nice read.

The Hyperion novels from Dan Simmons feature some entities that can traverse through time and space.

Jack Vance's Rhialto_the_Marvellous, consists of several short fantasy stories, but time travel is used. This book is part of Vance's Dying Earth series

The Morgaine Stories - C. J. Cherryh The genre is science fantasy. Her writing style is an acquired taste though.
