I haven't gotten it yet but the review just sounds too good to pass up. Obviously with it being an EASports title I'm skeptical, especially in regards to controller configurations (which I've recently had to bear the brunt of with MVP Baseball Sad)

Has anyone here played it though? Would like some Nforce opinions too.

ok Quick first look

The game is 10000x better than EA Sports Rurgby 2004.... which is a good thing..

Gameplay
The game is alot more fluid and flows very nicely..
Passing - Is well done well.. u can do little switch passes/tricky passes...
Kicking - Plain and boring.. just like 2004.. weak point in the gameplay.
Rucks - Also a weak point.. all u do is push a button to add players.. u have no control of what happens in the ruck either.. pretty poor
Mauls - not seen any in the actual game yet.. except for when your guy grabs it from the lineout
Lineouts - Simple... hold a button to throw.. then another one to catch.. its all about timing.
Open Play - Very good.. it flows very nicely...

Graphics
Well... they SEEM good.. HOWEVER.. i can not get them above 800x600... for what reason i dont know.. hoz here says he can get it to 1280x1024 ... and another guy i know says he can only get it to 1024x768.. so guess ea fucked that up somehow..

The stadiums etc are spot on with good models etc... player faces are all right..

But from what i can see the graphics are good.. best in a rugby game yet.. and the animations are VERY good.. they flow together excellent.. for example when a player gets tackled.. brushes someone off.. it just looks "Right" ..

Sound
Strong point.. good sound.. good crowd noises.... nice sound effects.. good good

The Bad Points
- The graphics wont work for me.. have to play at 800x600...
- Ball physics.. sometime it feels fine.. and sometimes it just seems stuffed.. eg the ball will land.. and do something stupid.. which is not normal...
- The stats in the game are a bit dated (Eg it says england are the best team in the world.. which was true a year and a half ago.. but now they suck Razz ) .. and some of the player stats are just weird and wrong..
- Rucks.. so simple its stupid
- Kicking game.. its not there.. they should have made it like jonah lomu rugby

Overall
Its the second best rugby game ever made.. (With the first being Jonah Lomu Rugby for the playstation 1)

It beats the shit outta EA's last 2 rugby games.. whoever it COULD have been so much better (With the kicking.. bal physics etc..)

Overall .. i would give it about 7.5/10 .... maybe 8

u have to be behind the ball

its that simple Razz

there is a thing called Rugby 101 in the game.. do that Razz

there is even a offside line u can put on the graphics options for ppl like u Razz

Thanks for the explanation but is that for both the attacking and defending teams? How can you have fouls for passing forward then? Surely that would be offside before the guy could pass.

not if they are not involved in the game..

Think about when 1 team kicks.. that would have to mean every single player would be offside.

But u cant for example when u kick the ball up the field.. the only people who can touch it are either

A) the other team
B) the people who were BEHIND the kicker from the same team
