Can anyone help me out here i have an old xbox running xbmc and want to put in a 1TB sata hard drive. I know this can be done via an IDE/SATA adapter. What i want to know is what SATA drive will work if any. Im running the matrix chip and think i have a 160 gig IDE drive in already so i know upgrades are possible with my chip I just dont know how high i can go.
The plan is to use it as an UPNP server serving all my other XBMC units..workin well so far i just dont have enough space

Hmmm. I havent touched my modded xboxs in years.
But i think you should be good to go with that drive, but you will need multiple partitions if im not mistaken. I used to do all my prep work with xboxhdtools from xbins.
Cant really remember, wish i could help.

cheers for the reply, im reading that there are people having issues with the adaptors and sata drives so im just going to put a 500 gig ide drive in and use it as a small NAS, will be enough space for me
