A mate of mine is selling a Behringer iAxe 393 for around 100$. It comes with a USB jack, and I think of buying it for the sole purpose of plugging it in the pc and playing Rocksmith on it. Checked some reviews on the guitar and they say it's not great, but the USB is cool and it's a cheap beginners guitar. Any thoughts?

For beginners yeah sure, if you really get serious about playing you can always get a nicer guitar.

I'm a big fan of ibanez and schecter guitar, been using them exclusively for almost 15 years. You can look into those, they are priced moderately.

I still have my Ibanez, but I don't know how to play xD. Bought it because I wanted to learn it, but I didn't find any time for that / I was too lazy.

Buy a used Fender Strat - those built in Mexico. They are not that expensive, and the build quality is way above Behringer, Epiphone, low and most medium-tier Ibanez.

It's a good thing to start learning with a good guitar, you won't have to put up with bad frets, abnormaly fast detuning, shitty frame build, crappy electronics, string buzz in various places, shitty sustain, bad wood quality, etc.

Word, shoddy quality can put you off of playing altogether - if at all possible, steer clear of the bottom-tier 'beginner' guitars. You don't have to drop a grand on your first guitar of course, but at least get a decent one.
