Btw VLC crashes trying to update itself. Relaunching it afterwards starts the older version. I guess I will check out PotPlayer, the name though is not pleasing. Very Happy I have done that in the past as well. If I recall correctly PotPlayer is certainly more aesthetic. In the end I guess one sticks to what one knows best. I loved the (now removed) feature of being able to record a stream with VLC. Very handy if one has a shitty internet connection (UMTS back then).

KMPlayer is basically exactly what I look for in a player. Not like splash pro where I have to suck on a demon's tits to load a subtitle or VLC where it crashes all the time. Play a video, any video (internal codecs are the shit), drag and drop subtitles and voila. I probably won't try PotPlayer, but I might give it a shot next time I reinstall Windows.

It's really the same. What I find great with pot player is the fact that you can really tweak everything with ease if, for example, the subtitles are going too fast or sth like that. Smile

And if the sound sync in off a bit? Can it fix that.?

I tried to fix that with VCL once but no success. It's annoying with the voice mismatch. Only with a couple TV shows but VCL could of been buggy too. I don't know. Didn't waste too much time on it.

Yeah, you can adjust when audio is played, either by forwarding it or delaying it.
Think default buttons are J and K on the keyboard.

Jacky, on Mac you have the excellent MplayerX and Mplayer OSX Extended, which are much much better than VLC.

Well, depending on your mac, MPX is hardware accelerated, manages to stay in sync in sound and video, and doesn't produce the blocking effect whenever you resize the window or do anything that breaks VLC. Such a rubbish software that VLC is, and always has been.

Ohhh! I had them up side by side last year and didn't see a difference. I just grabbed it, never installed it on this computer. It is different then what I remember. It's a lot nicer.

VLC was lagging a bit yesterday cuz I was downloading a lot of stuff. I think that was what it was. That hasn't happened before

pistol what do think of people waltzing into a thread, to have a laugh about those people who are so stupid to still use VLC? Is that how people should socially interact on a "friendly" forum?

People are going to act the way they want to act on a forum. I pay 80% no heed.

Maybe I have a thicker skin because I didn't feel laughed at for still using VLC. I have my reasons and I don't really need to go into detail defending myself.

Shit changes so fast it's hard to keep completely uptodate on technology. People get really into whatever appy they use and defend the hell outta it --Argo sounding non-friendly. I would hardly call it waltzing.

I guess it is easier to ignore it, if one is not the target (not criticism towards you). Hmm that is what you say yourself in the next sentence.

In the end I created a thread to vent my irritation and tried to make it look funny. I am not waiting for a couple of wannabe elitists to show me: Laughing

From experience, people are using VLC mostly for historic reasons or ignorance of other, better software. The less people use it, the better.

You should tell this forum why you are not a psychopath. I told you to deal with it but apparently being called what you are is too hard for you.

If you call a thief a thief, that person will be offended.

What do you want to happen here, what are you looking for? To get an apology and for him to admit you were right? or to get others to agree with you. None of that is going to happen. It seems like a huge waste of energy to get so worked up on this.

I have a moral duty to protect people who are weaker. This person is the mastermind behind a lot of harassment towards a lot of (also permabanned) people.

Take a look at this thread:
http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=79398

The community is diminishing and I blame that on very asocial people. Certain asocials who became vip here.

Why is it that certain people get away with everything?
Do I miss something here?

And btw I made my accusations and have been harassed all over the board by him and his vip proxies. If you haven't figured it out, I can't care less about social hierarchy.
