I could have sworn I'd read over and over and over throughout the years how some of you around here just love your PSP as a dedicated machine to run emulators for old consoles (SNES, etc).

Just dug my PSP out of a box, charged it up, updated to 6.60, flashed over PRO-C2, tossed some SNES Euphoria R3 Beta5 or something on there and gave FF6 a play.

Holy shit, talk about awful. Graphical glitches everywhere, can't even load the first intro scene where they walk toward town. Sound and gameplay slows down, especially during battle.

What the fuck? This is what you guys were raving about? Have I missed something? Done something wrong?

It just has more emulators available, doesn't really mean they are better though.

I personally prefer a DS/GBA as a mobile emulator. The NES/SMS/MD/SNES/TG-16 and most other 16-bit emulators run great on the DS and the R4 and a microsd was super cheap at the time. Not to mention a lot of SNES titles basically had GBA ports. So I had a R4 for a bunch of shit, and had a 256mbit F2A cart as well. Was the perfect portable combo.
