200 eur a year for a fixed ip dns workaround to keep a home domotica app working, and ofcoure the app supposedly only works with THEIR dns solution only HAHAHA, which is bullshit as all a dns is just a bunch of letters turning into a ip ...
should i pull out my shotgun and blast this cockroach in the face ?
yes thats 200 eur just for the dns service, not the app or anything else, just the dns
like for real, is this standard industry practice or, what i really think, a fucking scamming scumbag who knows old people are clueles
dns was free 20 years ago already, now noip offer still a free dns and a paying one for 20usd a yr
if only it was something special indeed, they can sell that my dad wants his house at 20degrees celsius when he arrives home all they want, its only purpose is for a cellphone to remotely turn on some stuff at the place before they arrive ..., its not a vpn ... its just a goddamn dns that translates a string of text myhomemydns.org into a string of ip address digits for crying out loud
maybe not only a dns but a ip v6-v4 tunnelservice / relay-server to be able to control the stuff from outside the homenetwork? its needed if the provider does only provide a shared ip v4 address
that doesnt justify the costs though, thats more like 20 bucks instead of 200 a year
