2013 is not a good year for me. First when deciding to replace 2 HDDs, the new one is a Seagate model that likes to tick every fucking time it parks its heads, and I can't not hear it now.. Also, my firmware version can't be flashed....
Then my micro-SD gets ejected from my phone while under the battery (dafuq). Bought a card reader, but of course, it does not support micro-SD HC, and I'm out of money for a few days.
But now, the most awesome thing happened... I was playing Path of Exile, as I usually do these days.. Suddenly, white blocks appear all over the screen. Sound goes wonky. I power down the PC with obvious fears of either PSU, GPU or motherboard dying.
But first, temperature checks. A bit warm at 73 degrees celcius, but definitely not artifact level. CPU is fine at 35-ish. I start the game with the intention of watching temperatures while playing, but as soon as I hit town, white squares. Power down.
Boot again.. but this time the white squares hit while on the desktop. This shit is getting out of hand, so I decide to re-seat the GPU, blow some dust out of the PCI-E socket. But nope, now, when asking wether I want to boot normally or safe mode, there are already white lines across the screen. Tried my second PCI-E slot, but the same happens. That pretty much rules out the motherboard.
So now there's an ancient 8800GTS 512 running. Luckily I save my old hardware.. The fact that it runs, pretty much rules out the PSU I think (8800 might use a bit less power). But I'm fairly sure I replaced that card with a reason. Just can't remember what it was.
Anyway.. This year sucks. will call Point of View tomorrow to see what their guarantees are on this thing. 2 (FML) or 3 (phew) years.
tl;dr: Everything technological is going to shit. Newest addition: My Point of View GTX 470.
