But it's the mini ones, right? since they're slowly pulling the production of the bigger screens.

I was kind of impressed by the build quality of the mini. The metal is prone to humidity resulting from too much holding in your hand. However, it IS metal, and the build quality feels way better than its current closest rival, the Nexus 7.

That would make me a sad panda, the bigger ipad is perfect in size imo.

Rumors about the real next iPad suggest a body with a similar shape of the Mini. Same width also. If this is true, it would be much thinner than the current ones.

...cancelled my preorder, the shop i prefer to use never got their order from the looks of it, or it was sold out.
Instead i ordered the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 for half the price. I read some reviews for it and it seems like the pen is really great (quite a few says better than the ipad one) + it has OLED screen as well. I don't really care that much about it not performing as well as latest ipad pro.
Will be my first Android device. I'm sure it'll be as annoying as ever to learn a new OS

iPad is such a useless machine tbh. The hardware is top notch, virtually faster than 99.9% of PC laptops, but the OS is a joke. You can’t do shit in it. Until they overhaul that shit to be more Mac-like, it’s a waste of money in my eyes. Unless you watch a lot of video on it; in that case, this year’s iPads have a top-notch display in them (1600 nits peak brightness is no small deal at this size of display). But for anything else, just get a computer. 🤷♂️

yeah, it seems like they're gonna do a hybrid OS for the new ipad pro's, it was announced yesterday. So it will be more like using a Mac.
SuperDisplay will be a gamechanger for me with the S9, use the tablet screen (with cable or wirelessly) as a secondary display for the PC, i can use Photoshop on it with the pen like a Wacom Cintiq, or do almost any task i can do on the PC.

@vurt Do you have a source for that? If true, I will sell my MBA and get that pro.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Thanks, I really wish this to become true. But it really needs to be macos at the base with, I don't know something like an ipad os UI on top.
Complaining on a high level: It's just not convenient to carry around two devices with almost the same hardware but for different tasks. I love using the iPad for presentations and as a whiteboard, but at the same time, I just need a proper OS.

yeah i think a lot of people want that.
Quick impression of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9; really good. Interface seems easy enough to understand, i could transfer contacts and even apps from my ipad or iphone really easy. The screen is awesome, build quality seems good too - no difference from any recent ipad.
