The sticky hasn't been updated in a while simply because i haven't had the energy or willpower, there's a lot of new info Yes, 4.xx CFW is possible and if you're on 3.55 it's as simple as sticking a CFW update PUP on a USB stick and booting the machine. If you're above 3.55; you're fucked. You'll need to use a hardware flasher to downgrade and even that has its limitations depending on what system you have and what FW it left the factory on.
Ignore any video that claims to JB FWs above 3.55. They're bullshit. Each and every single one of them. If you're on 3.60 and above, hardware flash/downgrade and then >> if you're on 3.55 or below; ps3updat.pup.

I can understand that, it's a pretty lengthy task to update a thread that's constantly changing everytime there's a new revolution in the hacking scene. I'm pretty much fucked then since i'm not willing to flash anything on the ps3 unless it was a simple jailbreak. I bought a "new" ps3 and of course the fw is higher than 3.55.
It's hilarious to see so many fake videos on youtube and all those stupid surveys. Luckily I asked in here, I feel sorry for anyone who follows one of the fake videos and ends up with a brick or spoofed from a survey.
