|
 |
If you had problems with corrupted files and you are using Windows 7 (with installed KB2735855 and KB2750841), you should download this hotfix released on 9.1.2013:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2789397
Three months I was like wtf, why is suddenly 30% of my downloaded files being corrupted.
Microsoft fucked up previous updates and if any 3rd party driver was working at Windows Filtering Platform while you were downlading it could result in fucked up file.
I will test it later, but so far it seems my problems are gone. (downloaded 10x1GB file with success)

my source: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=332920
I had ESET Endpoint installed, but yesterday I switched to MSE and problem still persisted. 3 times I downloaded 12gb mkv file via 3 different download managers and in all cases mkv was broken and unplayable... yet all download managers marked file as 100% complete.
In past weeks I checked HDD, RAM, losing packets, aaand everything is OK. Also Steam and Origin downloads were not affected, strange...
I will try to download 12gb mkv file again, as soon as my friend turn his ftp on...

Oh, you're using download managers... That's the only thing in your description that I can see could be the issue here.
I also noticed in that link you gave that they recommended uninstalling the hotfix for some reason.

My problem seems to be fixed. So far I had no corrupted files.
@Frant: So how I should download large files from internet?
You should read that link again. Because they recommended unistalling two broken hotfixes (from september), not this new (kb2789397) which solves what those two fucked up.

Uhm, I just download them as they are with Firefox own DL-manager.
