What I'm saying is that all norwegian drivers are required to get a ice driving course. Learn to deal with these situations. All these african and polish drivers do not have the training for it. Some are out on the ice for the first time in their life without any experience with it! Him not chaining up earlier shows his lack of experience.
Witnesses said the driver had the option to stop it from happening serveral times, yet he kept on failing. All due to lack of skills.
But what do I know.. I only drive trucks all over the country (including our mountain passes, which is even more slippery than that vid at times)....

Seriously, I know you're a truck driver and you do know a lot about driving in such conditions, but the crap you're saying does sound very racist and xenophobic.
Iv heard about Norwegian bus companies that hire people without bus licence, its probably extreme cases. But iv also heard its a big problem way to few people have a bus drivers licence. Guess they have found out its easy to get away with, I mean its not often you see the police poll over a bus in route.
But if something happens and insurance is involved.. there could be some serious problems obviously.
Anyways, what we saw here where terrible road conditions. The driver should have been informed, and even instructed to put chains on. I mean.. the buss gains speed by sliding O.o

Dude, it's the same way over in Sweden. All these bus companies are recruiting people who can't speak the language and barely can drive. They drive down the wages, no people from Sweden or Norway will work at those rates, but these guys will. Because they can't get a job otherwise because of not wanting to learn the language.
They have zero issues driving in the summer (well, some have a tendency to overspeed) but in the winter? It's a real issue not to have been driving for years and years on ice and snow, it takes a lot of experience to do it properly and even then you make a lot of mistakes. You can't get a driver's license without getting tested on how you handle driving on slippery surfaces (like ice) here. With a foreign license you probably haven't been tested on that either.
Swedes seem to take a lot of shitty jobs in Norway tho And minimum wage in Norway is pretty damn high as of late. I know 2 Norwegian cab drivers and one bus driver, so they do exist
One issue (at least in Sweden) is that transport companies for decades have lobbied against laws for trucks and buses to use proper winter tyres due to it being too expensive. I think they've compromised and gotten a rule to have winter tyres on the driving wheels (which doesn't help that much if you can't steer and you have X amount tons of goods behind you on summer tyres). And of course, they (transport companies) always win. Now imagine a truck with worn summer tyres on icy/packed snow roads whose carriage lose grip. Front wheels lose grip as soon as the carriage pulls the truck to the left or right. Braking will just make things worse since the wheels on the carriage are useless.
A very very good truck driver may be able to save a situation like that or at least survive but I think it's madness by transport companies to go cheap on tyres up here in the north where roads are icy, full of packed snow or thick layers of new snow. It's up to the truck driver to put on chains (I know many Swedish truckdrivers do in the northern part of Sweden), but there's no law. Crazy.

The salaries in Norway are insane, even for "shitty" jobs. One of my cousins live and work in Oslo at a daycare center for children. She share apartment with 5-6 other Swedish girls so the rent is cheap as well. Now her sister moved there as well.
Even I have thought about getting back my Norwegian citizenship and move to some town (not Oslo, waaaaay too expensive City.. most expensive City in the world even). I became a Swedish citizen when I was 18. I recently checked how difficult it would be for me to get my Norwegian citizenship back. Since I was born Norwegian all I need is a Norwegian address and I can just go in and fill in the papers and become Norwegian again. But my family is here (all Norwegians on my mothers side lol)

The part you don't see on the video is that he lost control serveral times before the video was made.
On the video he was going sideways for the 3rd time down the same hill iirc. The 2 other times was further up.

FYI, I work with serveral africans, polaks, germans,romanians, danes, swedes, probably some others too, and offcourse some norwegians.
I had one of the africans drive my truck one day while I had my required-by-law 12 hour break, and I'd love to have him drive my truck anytime again. GREAT driver.
Same goes for the 2 romanians and atleast 2 of the polaks.
AFAIK none of them had the required ice driving training, but all of them had the balls to ask for help.
"Hey Kristian, what do I do if xx happens? How do I do xx? Would you mind showing me or explaining how to xx?".
One of the "extra-drivers" has had 2-3 accidents so far. He's norwegian.

No. They're actualy trying to make studded tyres illegal.
In big cities you even have to pay toll for driving with studded tyres.. Blame the environment people..
It is however law to have winter tyres when it's snow/ice/slippery on the roads.
That 2nd incident with that other bus made a lot of people in various transport companies and organizations quite pissed, and according to some of them, the buses are to blame a bit, but mostly it's the drivers fault.
Even the 'veteran drivers' are scared to drive those buses, due to their horrible handling at slippery roads. Mostly due to the fact that they're Hybrids, which might suddenly make the bus change from the EL to the Diesel engine, which results in the drivewheels stopping for a second followed by a hard acceleration. After that, they're doomed.
Also, both drivers are reported to the police, and theres a big chance there will be consequences for them.
