There are many people over here who have 10mbit connections on either fiber or vdsl. I believe that those who are pupils at universities have access to 100/1000mbit but they often share it with other pupils. Also, some home users have access to 100mbit but it costs the double of 10mbit. It's cheap but absolutely not free.

Yeah, i've got a 10mbit which is really good for the UK.

We are way behind the scandinavian countries when it comes to internet access though. We're getting there, slowly.

How much? I think we pay about 50$ for 10mbit and about 120$ for 100mbit over here.

Is he a student or is the connection included in the rent? The problem with university connections is that they often block some ports used by p2p and ftp.

I'm in a university halls and we share a 100mbit between 10 people. I usually get download speeds up to 900 KB/s.

At first they cut off virtually all downloading, including p2p and irc. But I went to complain, as I think did many others and they seem to have released all restrictions now. Smile

The rent costs enough though! Mad

man if i lived in sweden i'd be raking in the cash from game servers. at 60$ a month you can easily put a bit upfront for for blade servers then have 10-20 comps running off one line. the comps wont depreciate that much either so you could easily afford to buy a spare line and upgrade etc.

OMG! That's very cheap. What provider do you got? I'm going for 100 directly when we get fiber. I don't care about the prize Twisted Evil .
