Except twitter has a setting that lets you post to Facebook at the same time (or was it the other way around?). Jeff Gerstmann for example has the same stuff on his FB page as well as on his twitter.

I actually use hashtags to search facebook. Well, search AND fuck with people by creating insanely long hashtags that would never work even if I wanted them to.

If, and when, I have something to say to the world, whether it be via facebook or via some other virtual soap box, I refuse to be limited to 140 characters. Sure, I have a twitter account. Sure, I've posted a couple of things. But I've realized that twitter is not for me as its mere existence is contributing to the detriment of language (English and the like). Pretty soon, we'll all speak in this broken tongue that consists of such shortened words that everyone, who choose to speak correctly, will be laughed at and demeaned to the point that they will have no choice but to jump on the idiotic bandwagon that language will have become.

Anytime I see people using hashtags on twitter or facebook...all I can think of is they are going: '#LookAtMe!' or '#ImBeingTechy!'
Because 99% of them aren't adding hash tags as a relevant tag word for easy searching or finding like and similar content..like posts going "I just made it through traffic for work! #lovinglife!"
they are using it as the whole:
I want more than just people on my friends list to read my ramblings, so Ill toss on hashtags so i get more random hits, so others can enjoy reading my useless posts while looking like a techy person because I used a hashtag on it!
