if you want a really good scary movie... check out the descent. there haven't been good scary movies for a long while. they're quick jump scares. descent has them as well but they work and they're effective. (download the eu cut rather than than the na cut).
and from the list i provided the classics are good.
suspira is pretty damn nice. nice colours and pretty thick spoony arse atmosphere in it too.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000783/ he's got a few good horror movies under his belt but i think suspiria is his best.
carpenter also a few good scary movies under his belt. the fog being one of them. it's back when carpenter did good b-quality stuff.
if you want gore and violence... mikke is good... even that asshole eli roth. aja has some good gory graphic scenes in the mirror and his The Hills Have Eyes was pretty damn nice too. high tension from him is pretty wicked. but it has a weak ending.
ive seen the descent ; thing is with these kind of movies i always hear the jump scares comming , music goes down or fades a while , long ass scenes ansd then the jump.
but it was a decent movie
i will check out what u posted tomorrow cus i'm drinking some fine scotch looking for a fast horror fix
lol, i like old movies fine, but are the "effects" good cus it kinda breaks the mood if its laughable.
I haven't seen mirrors wich i got from blam!'s links
trailer looks good
but i'm not big on Kiefer
