Every time I play a .mkv file it is very jumpy. I've recently started to use the Usenet for movies/series and it is only this format that isn't working.

I have the latest version of vlc. Any ideas?

I'm sure you don't want a suggestion but have you thought about using KMPlayer?

It's really simple, it uses internal codecs and it's really easy to use, even for someone not familiar with it.

Maybe your machine is not powerful enough. Try it with KMPlayer and use the slow machine preset.
