What do you think about this?
Its concept that means to describe a pretty complex cultural developement and it is not meant in a holistic way but more as a framework concept to help get a grasp on an ever changing and evolving system. Well its not even a "system" really.
So there it is not really a subject to discuss about since the concept in itself is quite largely defined.
Maybe you want to formulate a question.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
