I don't get these ginormous 'phones'. When I see some douche talking on a tablet basically I have a big urge to kick him in the face...

No, it has nothing to do with Apple. I don't like Apple's new 16:9 4" format either.

If you have small hands then 3.7 is enough, for me with big hands 4.3 is actually more then enough.
I find the 4.7 already too big, but i doubt that they would bring out a 1080p phone with 4.3 inch screen Sad

I don't have small hands lol. It has nothing to do with the hands. Also, unless you are a gorilla, you still have to twitch your hand with 4.5"+ screens to reach all corners. Also, it's HUGE in the fucking pocket, and uncomfortable to sit with.

Well to compare:

(sorry about fuzzyness, couldn't focus with dark room)

But like i said, 4.3 is perfect for me, anything bigger is too big again Razz

5" is just retarded. Too big to be a phone, too small to be a tablet. That said, 1080p at 5" is amazing. Now where is my 4k monitor?

And I won't want it, because I'll be able to get an identical panel from Dell for half the price, with better colours and without mirror layer Cool Face

Sadly, highest PPI I've seen on a decent sized monitor is IBM's T220/T221, 3840x2400 at 22.2 inches for 204 PPI. Released 11 years ago. Best we can hope for in the near future is 2560* on 22-24" Sad

Except that I doubt they will, they weren't the first with 2560* on 27" either (U2711 is about 6 months older than Apple's crap Smile). It all depends on when AUO or LG/Philips actually decide these panels are worth it. Or perhaps even Sharp, they've been stepping up their game lately.

120 Hz/IPS is a closer reality for now at least, I know those do exist.

Whose panels do Apple use? LG?

Yep. All the high-end displays are pretty much. Dell, Eizo, the Korean el-cheapo Catleap etc. - all LG.
