Ride your music.

Audiosurf is a music-adapting puzzle racer where you use your own music to create your own experience. The shape, the speed, and the mood of each ride is determined by the song you choose. You earn points for clustering together blocks of the same color on the highway, and compete with others on the internet for the high score on your favorite songs.

Audiosurf on Steam includes The Orange Box soundtrack, integrated with the game to enable"Still Alive"surfing and more. In addition, Audiosurf is one of the first titles to leverage the recently announced Steamworks, offering full support for the Steam Achievements that appear on Steam Community profile pages.

Play with any music from your own collection--the game supports MP3s, iTunes M4As, WMAs, CDs and OGGs
Valve's The Orange Box Original Soundtrack is included.
Online scoreboards for each song you play.
Choose your strategy from 14 available characters.
Track your progress as Steam Achievements.

The cake is a lie.

I played the beta last month and bought this on steam as soon as it was available for preorder. It's a great game and a steal at only 10 dollars. One of the best parts is the online scoring which tracks scores for each song. Beating your friends is a good feeling. Although I am gonna assume they wouldn't work with the pirated version.

Sadly, most of the time the server seems down when I'm playing.

Just played with hacked Steam, was also able to create an online account and upload my scores. Gonna buy it now though, awesome indie game and of course I am gonna support the developers.

What your saying is kinda like paying 10$ for a hooker when you can get it for free. The feeling is the same either way but one sucks Very Happy Since Hamachi, no one needs to pay for shit to play games with friends!

Yeah they were really not ready for the ammount of people that bought the game. They are working on upgrading the servers I think.

I love this game, planning on buying it as soon as they fix the servers

what is everyone's favorite character? I like mono because it's straightforward but you hit a ceiling in terms of score before the rest of the characters Sad

I dont listen to them but one of my friends who went to their concert came back and complained that they were such a studio band and sucked live. . . he didnt like how they cut out some solos during the performance or something. lol.

EDIT: wait. . . that might have not been dragonforce. . . I dont know, my memory isn't so good this time of the day.

I like it. It's original and the fact that you can use your own music is brilliant.
Bought it right after I played the demo.

an absolutely wonderful little game. it really pisses all over the recent "high" profile releases.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - ASUS P5Q-PRO - Mushkin XP2-6400 4GB - Gainward HD4850 Golden Sample - WD 3200AAKS (managed to fry this one, ffs) + WD 6400AAKS - Thermaltake 550W PSU - Thermaltake Soprano VX case

It's a nice game - especially the full version (I found the demo a bit uninspiring on the one hand). Give it a chance, if nothing else it lets you enjoy your music another way and at 10 bucks it's hardly breaking the bank.

Unplug any joysticks/controllers that might be plugged in. Had the same issue and it was my Guitar Hero controller that messed things up.

Had that problem too, it was ffdshow conflicting with the game engine. I disabled ffdshow and it worked.

Just bought it.
I am fed up with the sequel mania and unimaginative blender games by EA and the other big publishers.

These guys made something new and innovative and ask a fair price for it. They deserve my money.

Why would he want to? You can just use your mouse or keyboard...

Well, if it's a controller and he can assign keys then I don't see why not but it's easier to use the mouse as then you can have complete control of movement (not discrete steps). What I like about this game, and perhaps will only be apparent as time goes on is the competing on the leaderboards - and as I say it lets you enjoy your music in a way that's different, fun and competitive.
