Call of Juarez: Gunslinger has been revealed for PSN, XBLA and PC by developer Techland, following a mysterious teaser image on Facebook yesterday.

Ubisoft is on publishing duties once again, and unveiled the game’s debut trailer this morning, which shows the gunslinger in question hanging an outlaw, then looking at a wanted poster for the notorious Butch Cassidy before getting his guns ready. Could he be the game’s main villain?

Joystiq reports that Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is closer to Bound in Blood in terms of gameplay, with all sorts of gunplay tricks and brutal kills adding towards your running point total. Shoot well and you can spend earned points on upgrades as you progress.

Here are some debut shots of the game:

I really can't say anything about this yet. I expected at least an in-game cinematic. Yet we get once again a completely pointless and not good either live action trailer.

I really liked the first two. Although the second game had some lame shit for the "special moves" (the younger brother pretty much had the fps equivalent of mark & execute), you could still play vast majority of the game without using them. The one on one duels were fun too, once I got the hang of the mechanics.

I hope they pretend Cartel never happened and give up trying to milk the modern shooter trend. Just make a good western shooter, damn it. Red Dead Redemption showed that western games can profitable. Follow that trend instead of the Call of Battlefield shit.

LOL these FMW trailers aren't saying anything other than "Look! We are making a new shooter with COJ branded on the box".

But I guess the masses would rather watch fmw trailers than some blurry bloomy console gameplay Very Happy

Is this the first time you guys see an FMV trailer? It's supposed to be a teaser, has been happening for years now.

I hope it'll be like the first game, which blew me away. I doubt it though, devs/publishers do not easily forget and erase their mistakes.

No gameplay shown yet but looks alright. As long as it's close to BiB it's fine to me. Smile

(I would have preferred a "full game" instead of a XBLA/PSN title but it's good anyway).

Sounds like it will be more arcade than CoJ1/2:

Quote:
Somewhere along its route back to the ghost towns and gold mines of the wild frontier, Juarez seems to have picked up a few tips from Bulletstorm and The Club. Stringing combos together sees experience points and words floating out of the dead – “headshot”, one might say, or “running kill” as a fleeing gun for hire is shot in the back. (meh Laughing )

Those experience points allow the player to purchase skills, including a hammer reload option that causes rapid button-pressing to throw bullets into the chamber at an impossible rate. The ‘concentration’ mode is back as well, slowing the action, but that’s a skill that doesn’t need to be unlocked and recharges with each kill.

It will use a cel-shaded look (not as much as Borderlands 2 though) + book-style storyboards too, so it's basically like a spin-off.

The real sequel will be The Cartel 2 Cool Face

Yeah. The only great games they made were the first 2 CoJ games and after BiB they simply went to shit.

I thought you like Dead Island? Maybe I'm confusing you with someone else.

This game sounds like shit, though.

Nope, I thought it was a boring piece of shit/wasted potential. I did love to mod it though.
