My aunt has been battling cancer for over a year now and looks like she is going to lose. Yesterday I find out my father has it in his lungs, liver, and spine. I will go see him on Thursday. I am so fucking tired of this disease.

Cancer fucking sucks.
Guys, get yourselves regularly checked out. Stop being macho men that die because they were afraid of doctors.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

FUCKING THIS.
I've had, and beaten, cancer because of THIS! Never, ever ignore the doctor just because of some macho (or even fear) reasons.

Haven't seen the doc in years (aside from the annual work doc visit, that is).

Haven't seen the doc since 99 or something screw them, as long as I eat healthy and exercise, and don't have any pain, I hope I won't see one soon.

I do it once a year. Costs me peanuts, and they do a full checkup. Some forms of cancer are impossible to detect by yourself until it's too late. My girlfriend lost her father a few years ago because he had a rare form of cancer in his spine. He was this sporty fellow who always rode his bike everywhere he went, (at least 30 kilometers a day) he also followed all the "health nut"-trends, but he still got cancer. He noticed it only when he was feeling really drowsy, and wouldn't ever feel rested - regardless if he had a full night's sleep. He got the first symtoms a year before he got it checked out, and then only after deciding he would go down to half-time employment (he thought it was stress-related).
Then after a doctor's appointment they did some tests and cancer test results were positive. By then the survival chances they gave was about 25%. He did radiation therapy and it receeded a bit, but then came back six months later after which his body finally gave up. By then his body was so discolored by the chemicals and shit they were using that my gf still has nightmares from seeing him one last time.
Look into Frank Zappa. I've read his autobiography and followed the news when it was reported he got cancer. He only discovered his cancer after he had such pains in his butt that he couldn't sit. Again, by then it was too late. It had progressed for well over a year and there were metastases all over the fucking place.
Get yourselves checked over, this advice could very well save your life. Thank me later.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

It does indeed suck my friend. My thoughts to you and your family.
Cancer doesnt discriminate against age, gender, health or life style ect. My friends son age 13 has been diagnosed with a rare muscle cancer. Poor boy has gone through hell and is losing the battle in just 6 months. He has funding to go to usa for proton therapy but we fear he will be to ill to travel when the time comes. It has made me put certain things into perspective thats for sure.

We don't have health care like you guys on the north. MRI scan just one part of your body, like a head scan is around 200 euros. Now calculate how much does a full MRI scan cost. Croatian average salary is around 600 euros. |
Or you can opt for a MRI scan the normal way, going to the doctors and have an appointment... In 2-3 years you'll probably get a scan, with the waiting lists an all
