So what do you think of it? It looks clean and all, I was kinda accustomed to the old look, but I guess I'll forget about it in a while.

And I found this to be funny Laughing

We've designed Windows Live Hotmail storage to grow with you, but at a reasonable pace. That means you should have plenty of storage unless you suddenly want to store the planet Jupiter on Hotmail, in which case we'll send you a nice e-mail asking you to please not try to store planets on Windows Live Hotmail (although gradual storage of moons and asteroids is ok).

I'm always suspicicious of attempts by mega-corporations to endear themselves to me with humour. But I suppose it sounds better than "don't overload the system or you'll get a warning".

Anyone of you had @hotmail account back before this happened?
Didn;t they suppose to update all accounts to 5gb?
I still can see old layout and for past year or more I seen, Your Account is being updated
and when I click on update now i get

"Sorry, but it looks like you won't be able to participate in Windows Live Hotmail at this time."

I dont use it anymore but sucks nevertheless

OK, this whole hotmail thing really pissed me off. First off for the longest time I lost my reply button so I had to c&p the the msg into the new msg. I was ok with that. I tried other browers but they were even worse. I am on a OSX btw.

With the new setup I couldn't use any of my current browers. I had to go back to firefox which was proxied. I had to trash it and re-install it. Firefox is the only one that works. Safari you can't even respond on letter body of the mail. Firefox works well for hotmail and mac.

On firefox there is an improvement. I have a reply button, and I can paste icons on it. Yea for me.

I tried Opera, safari, I think EI. none worked. It was a pain in the ass.

First off, welcome. And thanks for agreeing to help us test Gmail. By now you probably know the key ways in which Gmail differs from traditional webmail services. Searching instead of filing. A free gigabyte of storage. Messages displayed in context as conversations.

So what else is new?

Gmail has many other special features that will become apparent as you use your account. You’ll find answers to most of your questions in our searchable help section, which includes a Getting Started guide. You'll find information there on such topics as:

* How to use address auto-complete
* Setting up filters for incoming mail
* Using advanced search options

You may also have noticed some text ads or related links to the right of this message. They're placed there in the same way that ads are placed alongside Google search results and, through our AdSense program, on content pages across the web. The matching of ads to content in your Gmail messages is performed entirely by computers; never by people. Because the ads and links are matched to information that is of interest to you, we hope you'll find them relevant and useful.

You're one of the very first people to use Gmail. Your input will help determine how it evolves, so we encourage you to send your feedback, suggestions and questions to us. But mostly, we hope you'll enjoy experimenting with Google's approach to email.

Speedy Delivery,

The Gmail Team

p.s. You can sign in to your account any time by visiting http://gmail.google.com

4.5 years, I <3 gmail.

+1 for GMAIL. I've been with it since the beta, never had a single issue with it.

They've become Outlook.com, I tried the beta and it's actually quite fast even if I might not really like the appearance of it so I'm keeping it. Very Happy

Anything is an improvement over that fucking clusterfuck that is Hotmail (or is it Live Mail? whatever) nowadays. I didn't like it 15 years ago and I still don't like it. Might see what Outlook.com is like, but unless it's got IMAP access it can go fuck itself straight away (not that I'll replace my Google accounts anyway, too much connected to them already Razz).
