|
 |
Hi..
I'm wanting to join a new newsgroup provider.
I have been on newsdemon in past but now no longer have a paypal account to pay for it.
Also I used to be on giganews but that is one of the more expensive ones.
Does anyone know of any popular, good and cheap newsgroups that I can use please that also allow payment by card and not paypal?
Thanks

Cheap, very fast, 20 bots. Astraweb came and kicked the rest in the butt.

Wonder which is best between astraweb and usenetnow?
Any pros n cons from each?
Both unlimited?
Both same amount of connections?
Which is cheapest?

well, usenetnow has 50 connections , everything seems to be the same.
50 connections is probably better for 100mbit+ speeds. if you have less, i dont think there will be a difference from 20 or 50.

I'm in uk and only on 25mb connection... So either would be same?
Also me and my bro will be sharing the account so that we can download from our different homes at same time.... Will this matter with connections?
Also are both of these fine with account been shared?
I know newsdemon was fine but think giganews complained about account been used from different IP addresses

Astraweb maxes out my 100mbit connection with 20 connections (11.28MB/s).

To my knowledge you cannot use one account with two different IP's at the same time no matter what provider you use. You can use it from different IP's as long as you're not using it at the same time.
RIAA/MPAA = major copyright organisation that are working to prevent piracy. By NOT working with RIAA/MPAA Astraweb protects it's customers and don't censor/delete uploads by orders from RIAA/MPAA.

Yeah.. Me and 3 others used to download from newsdemon at same time.. Had done for about a year.
But when we tried to do same on giganews, it warned the account holder about using connections from multiple IPs
Me and my bro are hoping to find one we can share
So if that's the case.. Astraweb sounds better.

There is one stipulation.. you CAN share the same account simulataneously, but only on the same IP address. So if you and brother live together in the same house, you can both download at the same time.

how would i know if my usenet provider is working with mpaa/riaa ? so far, i was able to download anything at any time. Old stuff is usually a bit slower (i guess that normal for 10$ provider) but anything current is maxing my 100mbit.
