It's no surprise that this game is coming but this time we finally might get something really new. According to those rumours the game might use Unreal 4 which could be very good choice to replace current modded Quake 3 IW-engine. I believe that Unreal 4 can be easly nerffed so that PS3 and XBOX360 versions might use it aswell.

Also it will be interesting to see which pacing they will choose because BO2 already 'taken' near future. Also other developers might be moving to the near future in Homefront 2, Battlefield 4 etc..

Crap. I hate Unreal Engine... Sad

And i don't think that there will be MW4.
Call of Duty Future Warfare is more possible.

What does it matter, if they use "next gen", if the whole thing still has to fit on the 360 and ps3 ? I dont see how that will make any difference from the IW engine.

Hmm seems kinda odd for them to switch engine, especially to UE..

Textures will be shinier than before for sure but Unreal is a great engine.Derp Epic Games knows how to make an engine.The problem is;optimization can be pain in the ass but i wouldn't care because i won't play the game anyway Laughing

you'd think with all the money and all the releases etc they would have made a proper inhouse engine by now ...

Unreal engine 4 won't run on the 360/ps3. GTFO.

They would. If they'd invest any of the money they make. But why bother with such avid fans that will eat up their shit over and over again? Just look in any COD related thread and you'll find them fanboys lurking around praising this diarrhea of a game.

Waiting for Vivendi to dismantle Activision. As some of you might know, Vivendi is the majority stockholder in Activision - Blizzard (62%) and having strong losses in the communications sector, they are trying to sell Acti-Blizzard. So far, they've been rejected by Disney and Microsoft.

I think that in the end, they'll try to sell Acti-Blizzard piece by piece. It's the next logical step, when no one wants to buy or has the money to buy.

Well, i would LOVE to see CoD1 remade in the new engine and keep everything else as it was. Just update the graphics.
I bet that it would sell for quite the amount on PC.

No, I meant CoD 1+2, not MW1+2 or even just MW1. MW1 was still ridiculously easy compared to the original two games. In the "next-gen" CoD games they all feel like fucking Tommy's, except for the fact that they're as deadly as a BAR. That is aside from lacking great weapons such as a KAR, which was ridiculously hard to master compared to the bullshit in the current games.

Not even MW1 comes anywhere near CoD 1 or 2.

The professional scene on CoD1/UO/2 was higher then all the others, so yes.

Personally, I understood perfectly!

still, +1 Razz

The first two COD had an incredible atmosphere. And everything was well made. But again, it was the original MOHAA that put the basis for the first two COD games. If you know your gaming history, you know that my affirmation is correct.

This, but change RCTW to Enemy Territory. Definitely my favourite multiplayer game of all time, IIRC I had around 1500 hours played.

@Shoshomiga:
The MP44 still was more interesting than the nonsense in the current cod games.

Funnily enough, BF3 is much closer to the original CoD (and indeed, MoH:AA, but the latest MoH installment is fucking terrible as well Sad) than the MW or BO games. Even though most guns in BF3 are fairly easy to use and there are definitely some that are royally fucked up, they do all handle completely differently. In the MW and BO games now it doesn't matter what you get really, they're all suitable for running around doing backflips off balconies while shooting since they're all pretty much dead accurate all the time.

@paxsali:
You missed out mate, it's a shame the games haven't aged that well otherwise I'd recommend replaying them Smile
