Hurts as fuck. Sad Even when I barely touch it, it feels like an anvil dropped on it.

Went to the doc. He took a look at it. Took out his scalpel and started cutting a part of the toenail away. Well and it fucking hurt, feeling that thing in my flesh. Maybe I should've asked for some local anesthetics Laughing

I used to have this when I was doing taekwondo, one time I accidentally kicked a metal pole and the nail that grew back just grew straight into my toe. I had to dig that fucker out with pliers and a pair of nippers. Hurt like you wouldn't fucking believe it, and there was all pus and shit. But felt awesome after.

Was a bitch to basically do surgery on your own toe, but I feel less pain doing that myself, coz if someone else does it I can't anticipate the pain in the same way and scream like a little girl.

So did I, but fuck those local anesthetics hurt. I've started hating needles since then.. Still, probably better than without, can't imagine them burning it feeling plesantly Laughing

Fuck you . For me, all I had was a needle and some pliers and antibiotic. Hurt like hell, and there was an amazing amount of pus in the wound.

Yeah I've had them a few times. I just cut them off myself (early on, before it gets too worse), hurts like a motherfucker but internal and external application of spirits help. Laughing

Believe this or not I do not fucking care, but my gran gave me this bit of advice and it fucking works. scribe a V on your toe nail this will make the nail grow upwards, also don't cut your nails in a curve, cut them straight this will make the nail grow out not 'round'

I have not had an ingrowing nail since.

I've had one too some years ago. Couldn't even play football anymore so I did just like Fisk and Inz, I pulled a Rambo and "fixed" that bastard myself.

A mate of mine had his large toe nail taken completely off. The nurse didnt dress the wound properly and the gauze got stuck to his nail bed.

They had to rip it off.

I think everyone that is male in Poland have this problem.

I went to the doctor lady that cut it out with a laser, it will never grow back again, it might look weird at first but can get used to it. She cut it few mm right before it grew into the skin, she did amazing job, have no problem for past 5yrs

Just returned from the hospital, according to the surgeon it was one of the worst cases he has ever seen, also it bled so much that my bandages were completely soaked before I even left the operation room Laughing didn't feel a thing though, and the finger is still under a local anesthetic.

The only problem with that is that when you cut them straight, the edges tend to get stuck in socks, or ... stuff.

i had this fucking problem for 2 years as a teenager,
got my toenail ripped out 3 times and then the doctor realized it doesnt do any good.
they decided on surgery and changed the shape of the nailbed so the problem
doesnt keep repeating itself. so far i didnt have any problems anymore but my toes look butchered and deformed, the nails dont grow length-wise normally anymore but kinda build up layer by lay and get really thick. once in every 3 years or so, the nail gets too loose and falls off on its own completely, then it starts anew. Sad

(btw the 3rd time they were ripping out the toenail the local anesthetic didnt kick in due to the already high degree of infection, so i felt the full pain, at one point it was so much that i almost passed out, got dizzy and felt my body supplying me with all kinds of self-made drugs like adrenaline etc.)

Huh, 2 days after the procedure and I feel great. Very Happy Can walk normally and stuff, I still have the bandage on, and of course because of my shitty luck I hit myself in the toe again when i was sitting on a chair so it bled a little, but it's ok now. Didn't even need to take one painkiller.

Granted that not the whole nail was removed (around 1/5), but what was removed was removed completely, ie even the nail matrix was completely removed.
