I have a 16GB Fraps video (7 minutes, full hd 30fps). I'd like to compress it to 600-1000mb. Any ideas?! Handbrakes own 264 fucks the quality up (looks like heavy noice cancellation). ffmpeg in Handbrake only has one setting qp, which always produces very blocky output.

Any help?

How about a simple commandline x264 encode ( http://www.x264.nl/ )? It appears that you don't need any of the additional features that handbrake offers.
Just run "x264.exe <input_file_name> <output_file_name>" and see if the default settings suit your needs.

EDIT: make sure you get the 8-bit version for general compatibility: http://mirror01.x264.nl/x264/64bit/8bit_depth/revision2200/x264.exe

Nero AAC does the job.

Result of Handbrake standard settings Sad Be sure to take a look at it in 1080p and preferably high volume on headset.

remember youtube grants 1080p rips encoded by them only a 6000kb/s bitrate, any video with alot of motion wont look great on youtube.
