MY friend in the states bought a HTC one X ( AT&T edition ) with is simular to the HTC EVO LTE 4g as they got the S4 1.5ghz dual core cpu, same as the SIII US edition compared to the international editions.

He wondered if there are unlocked roms he can flash to use his phone on any network and get rid of the spyware.

Also he has some kind of insurance where if he "loses" it he gets a new phone for 125 dollar. He told me if i give him the 125 dollarfor a new one i can have it, though even when i use it here in europe, is there anyway they can remotely turn it off? since i assume they know the internal serial number or whatever.

lolololololololololol@ insurance, there is no way you can get replacement phone under insurance for such a cheap price ...

and btw, i think if you report your phone stolen, they disabled sim-card along with IEMI but not sure..tried it once and insurance told me to pay full price...thats why insurnace is such a bullshit in USA, not worth 8$ if you have to get full price for replacement

and ATT HTC one X comes with LOCKED BOOTLOADER.

Here you go, unlocks the bootloader (for the AT&T version aswell) Smile

And then go search for a rom you like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1541

I would bookmark this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1538

Too bad there is a difference between the AT&T model and the normal one.
Most good rom chefs are in the normal one section Sad

soon XL is out ( basicly AT&T and sprint evo copies based on the same S4 chip ) so custom roms will be more common for sure then.

Any suggestion for a rom out of that list that changes as ltitle as possible from the original OS? my friend only needs to be able to use other sim cards on it and be able to tether with it.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655011 this is a very clean rom

But this chef is more known to me personally (his rom i use for a friend his evo 3d): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689847

But it's more about what you personally like to have.
Once the phone is unlocked, it's going to be easy to flash these roms and test them yourself Wink
