If I want to share a file from my computer to someone how can I do it?
Of course, I do not want him to be able to access anything else exept that file.

if you both have aol instant messenger,icq, msn, etc. then you can send a file to the other person. in aol instant messenger open up the instant message window and click people > send file. browse for the file and hit send. easy as pie.

It's easy if you have Windows XP.
Just disable "Simple file sharing" located by My computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> View. Then right click on the folder/drive you wan't to share and pick "share this folder" and give it a name. When the "simple files sharing" is disabled you could also give permissions and restrictions to certain users and groups.
edit: I don't know if you are referring to network or internet. If you mean internet I would recommend you to use ftp with for ex ioftpd. On his end there will be a ftp client like ftprush.

Try using the program Grouper. It works great and you can pick what you share. I recommend checking it out, it is really easy to use. Find it at www.grouper.com
