some friends want me to arrange some files I have. they want my files in folders with folder names that are very specific. they said I could find help here, as to what my folder names should be. they did not like the fact that i had renamed these folders, and i would like to be just like my friends. ... but i see no evidence of what my original folder names were, nor do i see any specific patterns from which i could guess at the original folder names. any help here? -bios

geezus, I read through the "whyrar" crap which intimates what folder names should look like, but it would still be guessing in the long run. 250+gigs of original release files, but folder names screw me up. I can figure no way of knowing for sure what to rename my folders to... this is gonna suck-bios

mmmh, i m not sure what your problem is. My best bet at the moment is, that you downloaded releases but have renamed the folders to something else?
If so, it should be sufficient enough to rename them so that the name contains the game / movie-name (the format for movies TS/TC/DVD/Scr & XviD/SVCD (with games it can be DVD or a rip or something)) and the release group...
