was reading up a bit on it and it seems its actually quite good as an encoder, though only payware encoders support it, and i didnt bother testing it since i only encode something twice a year and for that i use xvid4psp .
also as hardware decoder it can be used, someguy at intel implemented it into ffdshow and LAV http://sourceforge.net/projects/qsdecoder/ . seems like a proper hardware solution, i tried out dxva, VLC ( whatever method it uses ) and totalmedia hometheatre as hardware decoding solutions and its always something that doesnt work, stuttering, picture corruption. the totalmedia one did a great job actually with all my blurays besides the starwars one for which i had to turn it off.
I also use a dedicated GPU so i cant use quicksync unless i got extended desktop through its videooutput or use lucid virtu ( i havent toyed with that yet ).
But ive been meaning to find a good flawless hardware solution for when i buy a laptop which will have a hdmi output and be used as HTPC at the same time so i wondered if any of you got experience with it.
