I watch quite a lot of Japanese TV shows (not talking about anime or story driven shows, though I do watch those too), and sadly most of them are unsubbed (I understand Japanese but it's sad that I can't share the fun). They have a lot of fun ideas for their shows and the way they make them is very different from US shows.
Their comedy shows are the most entertaining to watch (I'm sure all of you have seen some Youtube video of some "crazy" Japanese game show), so that's what I watch most of the time.
And finally, I've found something that is subbed and quite fun!
The show is called London Hearts. London Hearts deals with a variety of different things, some of their stuff is boring/uninteresting (fashion and idol talk show stuff) but every now and then they do these very elaborate hidden camera episodes... These are mostly about testing boyfriends/girlfriends to see if they're going to cheat on them or not. Most of the time they do it because they've cheated before. The whole thing takes place over the span of several months and they make it in a way that really messes with whomever is potentially cheating... Before you look away, no this is not some cheesy similarity to Jerry Springer or some such. I think it's a lot of fun to watch how they try to squirm out of whatever situation they've gotten themselves in to and I can appreciate the feeling of revenge like that.
And yes, it of course has English subs, just press the "Captions" button when you get to the video and you should have English subs! Watch it in the order I put it for chronological order. The two episodes I'll list below (split up in parts) are of two Japanese comedians getting tested so don't worry about any regular persons privacy being invaded, these guys relinquish their privacy when they choose to become comedians in Japan:
I hope someone will like it. I wish there were more different Japanese shows I could share with you guys but unfortunately this is the only one that does subs like this.

the show is filled with such surreal humor that i haven't seen since python
unfortunately i can't find any episodes online
just standalone skits and skit collections, like the above one that is essentially a movie
the dvds are also ridiculously expensive for some reason so i fear i will never see the whole show

Oh wow what an asshole, although I can understand the pressure after a girl has been making passes at you for 4 months atleast own up to it at the end.
