I was on LT 2.0 but I updated to the newest dash on the update on the Max Payne disc, so I now have the latest dash, all my copy games still work .... So now my shop upgrades for free for a year, do I need to take my 360 in to upgrade to 3.0 or do I already have 3.0 cos I upgraded on the Max Payne disc ..... I can't ask at the shop cos they don't speak English Thanks

If you didn't get the update from live and you didn't connect to live in a while you are ok with LT 2.0 (you are still on 2.0, the update didn't affect your firmware), i'm in the same situation (banned since 2009) Smile

The problem now is that you can't play installed games like before. You have to put a mp3 file on a usb drive, play the song from the dashboard and then start the game with the song playing. After the disc stops spinning you can stop the song using the home button.
If you don't use the mp3 method when you are trying to play an installed game, you should get a unable to identify disc error (or something like that)

I have an phat xbox with lite-on drive. The dash version is 13599. So if i update to the lastest dash can i still play may payne and other xgd3 games on lt2.0?

And is truncated still working?

I was on 13599 before, updated to latest dash from usb drive not from max payne. Fat 60 gb xbox with lite-on drive too. If you didn't get the dae.bin silent update from live you sould be able to play trucated xgd3 games patched with lt2.0 topology on the latest dash. Use the mp3 method posted by me to play games from hdd. But be careful, if you've got the dae.bin from live your xgd3 games won't work anymore.

Thanks, I haven't a clue what dashboard version I have or what drive I have, but I'm using a Xbox slim ....... Fable 3 isn't working anymore, is that xgd 3.0 ?!

I previously had dash 13599 and upgraded to latest dash using USB drive. I have not connected to LIVE ever. I use an iHas burner to burn full games (not truncated) and I can still install them and play from hard drive on LT 2.0 with latest dash.
