GTAV good, GTAV run X360, need X360
Piracy also good, need piracy
Which model in particular should I be trying to source? The last time I had a 360 the exploit was to replace the drive with an LG one or something and it worked great. I vaguely also remember having to stealth patch games or some such thing, I'm sure it's a changed since then.
Can any of the slim models play backups? I'd have bought another PS3 but I like grass.

I have brand new never used slims with coolrunner installed. Also with kinect if you want. Will beat others prices. Can install larger HDD if needed

If you are into RPG games and can forgive that its a JRPG: LOST ODYSSEY!
You won't regret it! Epic!
Around 60 hours of gameplay, long cinematics, interesting storyline, beautiful levels (volcano, snowfields, cities, highlands).

TV looks "fine" probably because it has a shit load of post processing applied (oversaturate, oversharpen, dynamic contrast are just some of typical shitty post processing TVs do), especially if it's one of newer models. 99% of the time monitors display signal is "as is", without any sort of post processing.
completely disable any kind of post processing, usually it involves renaming HDMI input to PC or PC DVI, and then compare to your monitor.

Going to get a 360 exclusive for Rock band 3 pro drums. Playing on the wii atm, but the gfx hurt my eyes, and there are hundret of custom songs only for 360. Well, anyway... whats all the hype for gta5 about? I mean if itd be released on the new xbox i could understand it, but on the 360? Not that im a gfx whore, but doesnt gta always live from its rich and shiny gfx?

Pretty much every GTA (since 3) was released on consoles first and none of them shined in gfx; not on a technical level anyway.
However at the time of their release, both GTA IV and RDR were very pretty to look at games, both techincally and artistically, and that on x360 (and PS3). I think RDR holds very well even today.
But since you didn't had a x360/played those games, I guess my point might be lost on you. 
And no, it's not the gfx (though from what I saw GTA V looks pretty damn good), it's the quality of R* in open world games witch hypes this so much.
